Subject: I would say that Tony Geary Probably gets more Vacation time then anyone on Daytime Soaps. I like Tony but it is rediculous how much time he is gone. From what I have heard he lives in Amsterdam most of the time. I would love to be a fly on the wall to see how different he is when he is in Amsterdam that is all I am gonna say WINK ; )WINK ;) EOM HAMCAT

Subject: According to TG, he gets 22 weeks off a year & does live most of that time in Amsterdam. He also travels around Europe. TG has earned that time off. For many yrs he didn't have a lot of free time & now he makes time--good for him, IMO. As far as it 'ruining' Luke & the stories being told, that is all on TPTB, not TG. The amount of time he is gone shouldn't reflect the quality of the stories or the kinds of stories being told. If he was living in LA full time Luke wouldn't be getting better stories & neither would anyone else. TG's time away is just one of many excuses trotted out to justify bad storytelling & even worse character development. eom

Subject: Tony Geary shouldn't expect to get good stores if he's away for 22 weeks. It's not like the 22 weeks are all at once. It's broken up throughout the year so once a story gets going, he leaves for vacation. He shouldn't be so greedy and want all that time off. He's way past being the star and draw to GH so I wouldn't mind if he left for good.

Subject: Jessica: No one said that TG 'expects' better stories! I'm not talking about what TG expects, but what the audience expects & deserves, which is better than this. It doesn't matter if TG gets a week off a year or 22 of them, the writing has suffered, across the board for everyone. It isn't because of one actor's 'vacations'. It IS about the disconnect in telling compelling stories about characters the audience cares about & identifies with. Time & time again, we get our hopes up, only to be disappointed w/these vaccuous characters in pathetic, uninteresting stories that go nowhere. GH, like a lot of soaps, lost their sense of community & multi-generational involvement yrs ago. They apparently have no interest in regaining it or properly utilizing the great talent they DO have. Even the actors who come off weak & uninteresting haven't been showcased well. How many times have we seen actors, perceived as 'talentless' leave soaps & shine elsewhere?! I've been watching a lot of old shows on RTV/RTN the last year or so & it is so sad to see so many actors shine on old episodics, but have their talent wasted in daytime for whatever pathetic, undeserved reasons. eom
