Additional Comments: ...if you could? I would definitely love to bring "The Edge of Night" back. That was another big favourite of mine back in the '70s and early '80s. I was in high school, and, like GL, "Edge" was on late enough in the afternoon that I could see it when I got home from school so I became a big fan of the show.
What other shows would you bring back?

Definitely Ryan's Hope which I think was one of the best soaps ever on.

CAPITOL..........I loved that soap. When it ended EVERYTHING was left up in the air. Even had a main character before a firing squad and as they said 'Ready, Aim, Fire' the screen went black. I HATE THAT!!!!!!! Would love to see it come back.

Fevuh) Capitol fans are hard to find these days - but I loved the show. And because I'm from the DC area, it was nice to have a show that was about somewhere other than the Midwest like the rest of most of the shows were. The character you're talking about before the firing squad was Sloan Denning (played by Deborah....something. Was very popular). She said something like,

(oops) said something like, 'Long live Baraq'....because the government was overthrown and she was the princess because she had married...Prince something? Ali? Anyway, she was holding an olive branch I think....and someone was on their way to try and save her...we never got to know if the gunfire was her rescue team firing on the firing squad...or if it was the firing squad finishing Sloan off. Was a great show.

capitol..Thank you J conboy by taking it out on the fans the way he ended it. Why because he waws very angry the network cancelled it.

Oh, I remember! Santa Barbara. I never saw it, but it had a lot of good people on it, and sounded like it was good. fee

Yes, it's so sad that that Mary Stuart and Larry Haines are no longer with us. It was wonderful that we were able to see Mary again on GL as Meta during the final years of her life. eom

I also never got a chance to see 'Santa Barbara', but it was created by my all-time favourite GL writers, Jerome and Bridget Dobson so I'm sure it must have been a great show. I remember it had a very loyal following. eom G.

What a list THAT would be! Off the top of my head: GL, AW, SFT, EON, The Doctors, Love of Life, Love Is A Many Splendored Thing, Loving (the original, not as it ended w/Gwen as the serial killer), The City (a better premise), Secret Storm--for starters. There are tons more that I'm missing & many more that I never saw.

With so many radio channels now, I'd like to see soaps really get back to their roots & do radio--lots of people would listen to 15 or 30 minute shows.

Mary Hartman Mary Hartman was a spoof, not a real soap. I'm talking about real soaps, not spoofs. I would also add Ryan's Hope & Santa Barbara to the list of shows to bring back. eom

I never got a chance to see 'The Doctors', but I keep looking for old clips, hoping to see Elizabeth Hubbard, who is so great as Lucinda on ATWT.

I remember both Another World and Edge of Night from my childhood, my mom watched them. I remember Sky and Raven from EON (always thought they had the best names!) and a lot from AW - especially that Angie Perrini was played by the same actress who played Vanessa on GL, and her little brother Joey was played by the incredibly hot Ray Liotta! Sweet memories :o)

I'd bring back Search for Tomorrow - I still miss that show. Unlike the others, there's really so little of it on youtube - I'd settle for seeing more of it there! I watched it until the bitter end.

Raven on Edge was always one of my favourite characters. I used to love her relationship with Geraldine. Sort of similar to Jill and Kay's relationship on Y&R. eom

Another World. In a flash. Alli Cory Fowler, Rachel's granddaughter, would now be the town vixen. Jamie Frame would run Cory Publishing. His sons, Steven and Kirk, would be rivals. Dennis Carrington's family would be in town. And Matt Cory and Josie Matthews would be married and have a family. Plentyof great stuff. Never happen.

AW was such a great show. In the '60s and early '70s, my grandmother would watch all the CBS soaps, from

'Love of Life' on, but would always switch to NBC for AW and

'Somerset', faitufully. I was only about 5, but I vividly remember when Ada first came on the show, with her headstrong daughter Rachel..she just didn't know what to do with her! LOL Such memories

What cancelled show would I like to see return?
