Additional Comments: TV Guide Canada reports that Irna's adopted daughter recently died and her adopted son, Tom went through Irna's mementos and found her autobiography. He also has a wonderful quote from his mother: ''Tom recalls his mother once saying, ''Why the hell should I get married? If I want to get in a fight, I will call those buffoons in Cincinnati [where P&G headquarters is located].''

Message: Irma must have been an extremely strong, independent and talented. Not easy for a woman during her time. I believe her words. P & G, their way or the highway (he who has the gold rules) sad but true. If Irma stayed out of the Trillion dollar company shackles, good for her. The person that posted that negative words about Irma--Do you know something or was that a guess? I hope we are able to read more of her treasures soon.

Message: My favourite Irna Phillips story was when she apparently didn't think very much of a particular day's ATWT show, and called them up, and when the receptionist answered the phone, "As the World Turns...", Irna responded, "Not today, it didn't!" LOL She could be very funny, albeit in a sarcastic, confrontational way.

Message: She wrote great soap opera, apparently, but Irna was obviously an unhappy person and very neurotic. I don't find her comment funny at all. Those buffoons in Cincy known as P&G are trillionaires many times over.
