Sorry, I've been out of town since Fri morning.  I NEVER said that he was to replace EB.  My understanding of the problem with EB, was that they were renegotiating his salary.   He said he was okay with taking a cut; he had no problem with that.   What he DID have a problem with was this negotiating of the salary at the end of this 13 week cycle, and NOT when his current contract is up next fall.  Nobody said he was leaving or he wasn't.   What they DID say, was that they were fixing the show where it looked like he and Nikki would be taking off on an extended trip while they were continuing to negotiate.  Rather like they just got done doing with MTS.  There was a call that went out a couple weeks ago for a crusty billionaire to be on Y&R.   THIS was the role they were casting for.  NOT a replacement role for EB.  I was actually hoping they would hire JC.   Cuz he's the PERFECT crusty billionaire as far as I'm concerned!  

They have also said there is a possibility that this character (Tucker) will turn out to be Katherine's long lost son.   (That she did not have a daughter previously; it was a son.)  Don't know if that's true, but it was mentioned as a possibility.

I have read that RR is going to Y&R as Tucker and I'm so excited! I don't think Eric Braeden is going to leave at all. I just do not see that happening. The contract negotiations will work out. I don't think it was ever even considered that RR would replace EB as Victor!! Tucker will be involved more with the Chancellors.

It's been traced to Mr. Brooks Genoa City News. That guy is outrageous. But if you read the first line before the hyperbole, even he uses the word RUMORED.

Or does noone know yet - just waiting to see if Eric Braeden is definitely off Y&R?

Thanks so much for the postings - no matter which role it is, I will now start watching Y&R if Ron Raines will definitely be on.

I watched GL faithfully since 1983, and once in a while would watch Y&R.  But maybe I will watch Y&R all the time now.

They haven't said he's fired yet. He's refusing to sign a contract that would have him negotiating salary every 13 weeks. This past summer Melody Scott Thomas also refused the same contract and she was written out. But when the show put out a recast call she caved & signed. If Eric Braeden takes too long yes they'll replace Victor for good even if it's only a similar character.

Wow! This is the first I've heard of this! I watch Y&R, and would have said that after all these years it would be hard to envision anyone but EB playing Victor. But Ron Raines??!! Oh, YES! My mind is spinning to think of his interaction with the other characters.

"According to Mr. Brooks Genoa City News site, Y&R has supposedly signed Ron Raines (ex GL) to play to the newly created role of Tucker.A couple of weeks ago I posted the possibility, mentioned at that time at the Mr. Brooks website, that EB was being written out and that Raines was a casting possibility for either Victor's replacement or the Tucker role that was being rumored at the time. I saw this over on the Y&R board. I am so excited. I was afraid he'd go back to only doing his music and we'd never see him on TV again. It's going to be great seeing him play a different character and interacting with all the characters and actors on that show. (Edward)
