Topic: Holy Cow - Marty West Former Shayne Lewis? Is this him? Yay or nay?

So how weird is this....a friend of mine in California was telling me this week something they said they kept forgetting to tell me.  Awhile back they were working on a real estate transaction in LA/Santa Monica and this person knows how badly I had the hots for Marty West (former Shayne Lewis)....they're also a Guiding Light fan, so they knew who he was, etc.

Well my friend was involved in a commercial real estate transaction, and was working with someone named Marty West...talked on the phone first, and then met him/worked with him, and swore it's him.  And I think it is!  LOL.  He's listed on the company's website as and advisor.  My friend didn't ask him outright, thinking it might embarrass him if he wasn't able to make a go of it in TV, film, etc....and instead went in the direction of regular work among the rest of us.  But here's the company website and the team of people.....is it him or not?  Yay or nay?

How crazy is that, even if it's not him for someone to have the same name and look so similar!?

Not sure why I wasted my time, but I wrote to the website asking if Marty West was the same guy who acted on Guiding Light.  Even lied and said I liked his work.  This was last Friday and so far no reply. 

Hopefully this company replies to more serious messages faster than this, but I would have guessed if he thought chatting with a fan could hook a sale, he might be low enough to respond by now.  Guess they didn't teach that tactic in Annalist School.

Like I said...what a waste of time.  Sorry to waste yours if you are reading this.

Yay, Fevuh, I think it is him too.

I looked him up on YouTube and watched his audition for GL, and it definitely looks like the same guy.

He was never my favorite Shayne, but I wish him well and hope he likes his new career.

WHAT? That's a big thing to say about someone, especially if it's not true!

He supposedly did some wrestling video and news of this leaked around the time he left GL. But I was never clear on whether it was porn, or one of those homoerotic-type movies. Anyway, glad he's doing well and has found a new career outside the sometimes cutthroat world of showbiz./KB

Yes. The wrestling vids were of the homoerotic type. Some people claimed they were ''instructional'' tapes, but one doesn't do instructional wrestling wearing bikini briefs or silver lame speedos on non-standard wrestling mats covered with sheets. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I hope this young man has a successful new career. This is him. A few years back it was reported he was unemployed in Santa Monica, so that fits to where this real estate business is located. Also, he went to Arizona State just like his resume says. I would only suggest he dump the perioxide blond look. Seriously - that's so 90s porn star.

Fevuh) Well that's even better because so am I. LOL. I had always heard that, but after this thing happened with my friend, I looked hiim up to see if he's done other work, just to see if it made sense that he would have gone into real estate - or if he had been working. One of the only credits I saw after his GL work was an appearance on one of those judge shows, where he apparently sued a girlfriend for money or something. I don't know what that was about. LOL.

Many unemployed actors in the L.A. area (especially the glamourous Westside) go into real estate or property development. It's a career that uses some of the same skill sets. Convincing people to buy into something big - based often on image and scripted presentation.

Hey, Fevuh. That is most definitely Marty West from GL. And while his acting wasn't exactly Emmy worthy, I agree with you in that he was definitely nice eye candy. And I never did see that one episode during the Conboy era where he REALLY showed some skin during a love scene with Marina (Aubrey Dollar). Hmm...is annalist a word?

Wow, yeah - definitely eye candy! He was the cutest Shayne ... although the last one was easy on the eyes as well. I do question the fact that this website says he's an 'annalist' - bad spelling always makes me question how detail-oriented they are! ........... Ashley

Check these out.  I don't think it is the same man in both photos, but hard to believe they both have the same name.  Maybe "Marty West" is just is "annalist" name. 

Whole company looks a bit cheesy to me.

Spaulding Butler} I had never heard of that word -- annalist -- before, but it actually is a word, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary (see link inside). It means 'a writer of annals' or 'chronicler.'

That is totally the Marty West who played Shayne Lewis. I saw it right away even in the group photo at the top of the page. It looks like acting didn't pan out for him so he got himself another gig.
