Subject: Because while Alan may be broke, he is still dangerous. He is still capable of taking over management of Sarah's life & keeping her parents from her. He is still capable of overseeing her Spaulding inheritance as well, which would have been safe from any kind of bankruptcy or loss of the general Spaulding fortunes. Sarah is a very wealthy little girl! Just a 'minor' consideration, the guardian/overseer of a trust like Sarah's comes w/income--quite a lot of income, as well as voting proxy until she is of age, whatever that is stipulated in the way the Trust is set up. eom
