Topic: Prayers and good thoughts, please

Additional Comments:

If you would, please think good thoughts and say some prayers for my baby Westie, Oliver

He's my only surviving Westie - both of his older sisters (Summer & Angel) passed away from cancer.  Now Ollie is facing surgery for two tumors.  He'll be undergoing the 3-hour procedure next week, and facing some increased anesthesia risk due to his age/health.

Prayers and good thoughts are very much appreciated!!!

Sending thoughts of positive thoughts to Ollie!!  I hope everything goes well and if it is cancer is a slow growing one.

  • aR: Your post sent me to a website to see your other westies, then I had to look at everyone's dogs and everyone's cats (especially mine), and reread the stores. Thanks Sammie! http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/9374/
  • Judles) Awwww...that was a trip down memory lane Annie...we said goodbye to my kitty Matilda a few weeks ago from cancer as well...her picture is up on that site.
  • aR: Oh, Judles ... I'm so sorry about your Matilda -- how are your boys dealing with it? And you!! I'm still reeling from Tommy and now Kimo has a heart thing ... however, it's nice to have Sammie's website where we can see them again. I thought that when I saw Tolliver, and then I was wondering about Breezn's little crooked-head kitty!! And all the rest ... *sigh*
  • Bauer) Thanks you AnnieR! Me and Ollie appreciate your good thoughts!
  • Judles) Thanks Ann...I had a hard time for a few days...still tear up occasionally. Allen had a difficult few days, he's almost 9 and she was as much his pet as mine, he'd been helping take care of her for a number of years. Andrew and Aaron really didn't understand all that much...but they're 4 and 5 and the last few years of her life Matilda made a point of staying away from them, lol. Andrew perseverated on it for a few days...kept saying asking when she was coming home from the Vet, over and over. He finally let go of it after a few days. It was for the best...she had several tumour on her belly and the vet said there was a mass in her abdomen and her heart was weak. So it was time...but it was hard. She was 14.

Good luck sweet Ollie. Hopefully they're just lipomas or if it is cancer, a very slow growing one. A dog I take care of just had similar surgery and bounced back really fast. He's 13 and it is cancer but a slow growing type.

  • Bauer) Thanks. The vet seems to feel strongly that it's cancer (testicular), but after we got the blood results back and his values were all within the normal range, I started to have more hope. He'll also be having his teeth cleaned and a mass on his backside removed at the same time.
