Not much is new here. It's above 0 so I'm happy with that. I am still passing all my courses so I'm happy with that. My summer of laziness might be ruined with two jobs and building a deck for/with my parents. My 17 year old dog is still alive. I don't know how he's doing it, but he is. Oh and my summer begins in 22 days!

Not much new in yukonville the sun has shined for 2 days a very welcome sight indeed.
I am planing a trip to southern California, I have finally decided on May but won't make my reservations until after I go to the foot DR. next week. I am going to visit a internet friend, actually we think so much alike we may be long lost sisters. In her photo she sent me my hubby says we even look alike. poor lady.
I thought someone that posted on this board lived around LA except Scotty I can't remember who. I will have a hour layover in Cincinnati if I decide to go Delta and I hope to see if Moe still works there, it would be nice to see her again.
I have lost over 30 pounds DR. isn't happy because we have no idea why. I haven't been on a diet even tho it surely wouldn't hurt any. I had a CT scan it came back good. had a mammogram and I also have calcium build up and have to have them re-done in 3 months.
Brett is same, Ashley is great works too much, other son is drawing unemployment, hubby is great. All in all we can't complain.

Hubby and I are taking the boys to see REO Speedwagon tomorrow nite. They are excited--but they did ask if we got 2 tickets in one spot and 3 in another-LOL. Didnt think of it at the time we got the tickets. They said, fine, just dont dance or hold up lighters and sway.

Our neighbors adopted the most georgous 18 month old little boy. She's a Dr. He's an investment counsuler, they said absolutely NO gifts, they needed nothing, So I made them a fancy little coupon book for 3 nites of free babysitting (I would do it more) our house or theirs if they needed a Mom and Dad night out-they have no other kids-so its a bit life changing for them. Im really hoping they take me up on it!!
Really other than all the medical hoo-haw Ive been going thru. Absolutely nothing happening here. SSDD, but at least the snow is melting and its getting warmer!! Yeah for hot weather!

  • Bauer) I didn't realize REO Speedwagon were still touring! Are the boys into their music?
  • Wendy-My boys are headbangers-They like the older stuff-Metallica, Pantera, Black Sabath. REO is actually pretty tame for them, but that was last night, They loved it and we had a blast. They ALMOST think Mom and Dad arent old nerds anymore!

Our lake house is coming along.  They've done most of the framing and the roof  will go up sometime next week.

Jam is thinking that if she doesn't get the paid position at U of Colorado, then she'll stay in Chicago and buy a house.  Every day she sends me links to cute little overpriced things for sale in Chicagoland.

Son just returned from a trip to Sicily over spring break.  He and a friend (female) went to visit her best friend from HS. She's married to a guy who is in the Navy and is stationed at the Navy Air Base on Sicily.  The plan was to fly there and stay on base with them for a week, taking little day trips and visiting.  The hostess fell and hurt her ankle so after a few days, the son and his friend (female) took a train to Rome, toured the Vatican and Sistine Chapel, went to the Coliseum, ate fabulous food, took a train down to Naples and then a ferry to Capri, then took a train back to Sicily.  They were supposed to fly home on Saturday but all four people in the house overslept and they missed their flight from Sicily to Rome, which of course made them miss their flight from Rome to Philadelphia.  Next flight out of Rome to Philly was the next day, so they had to check into a hotel. They then took a horse and buggy ride through the city, took in a few museums and eventually caught the plane the next day and got home Sunday night.   They're kind of ticked at their hostess and her husband for not waking them up in time for the plane. They were in the only room with an alarm clock.  But the son and his friend (female) had a great time and they are now not really "son and friend (female)" but "son and girlfriend".

Husband has his best friend (male) here for 4 days. They're playing pool, golf, and having a good time. I like this because I don't have to entertain anyone but I do get included in the dinner at the restaurant every night.  Good deal.

Oldest daughter asked if we can come up to Ohio in June for a week and take care of both kids while she is in CA and her husband is in Spain.  Geez.  She is the Alumni Advisor for the Delta Gamma chapter over at Kent State and every year they send her to the Sorority's convention. Last year she went to Dallas. This year, it's L.A.  Her husband is going on some kind of Jesuit Retreat to Spain through the school he works in.  I guess the only way they could be luckier is if they got to go on these trips together!

I got my haircut today and sadly, it was not the haircut that takes 50 pounds off of your face.  Is there a haircut like that?

  • Bauer) If there's a haircut like that, let me know PLEASE! Sounds like everyone is doing well in Qland! I'm glad to hear it!
  • Wendy) I cant help but thinking of you and Mr.Q. at Mr and Mrs. On Golden Pond.-LOL
  • Q) EXCEPT WE'RE NOT THAT OLD!!!!!!!! Remember...MID 50's here!!!!!! I'm only a few years ahead of ya, Wendy! LOL

Not too much!  We are all moved back into our house after the power outage/snow storm and everything is pretty much back to normal!

Alli had her 18 month checkup today and is doing great!  Her doctor said her language skills are on par with a 2 to 2.5 year old, so I was pretty proud of that! :)

  • Bauer) That's definitely something to be proud of! WOW! Way to go, mom (and Ali)! Thanks for checking in!
