Are you writers?  Thats the only reason I can think of for these posts that have nothing to do with OLTL.

This forum is not for discussing topics such as this nor is this a message board for the WGA.  I am going to notify the board ops so they can review this posting.

The Union had the option for it's writers to go fi-core during this strike.  Some took that option and I don't fault them one bit for it.

The strike involved some very complicated issues, some very legitimate.  Are you fully familiar with all of them and the sides ?  Or are you just looking at is as a union person who "abandoned" their union.

The only involvement this has to OLTL is that without the talented writers who work for OLTL and other soaps, this show would be off the air, gone, never to return.

Primetime shows can go into repeats and recover.  Daytime shows cannot and would most likely die a quick death if they did.  ABC tried it in the past when one of their shows went off the air.

  • No, I'm not a writer, nor am I an actor, costumer, executive producer, or head of daytime programming, and yet the decisions of these individuals and how they impact OLTL in particular and daytime in general are the foundation of this board. As such, this topic is entirely appropriate. I think it's hilarious that you object so strongly to this posting that you feel the need to ''notify'' someone about it, then go on to participate in the discussion! -- Rhonda eom

These are not the correct names. If you are going to "expose" someone at least get their names right. Effing scabs is right. These aholes get the benefits of the union even tho they don't support their union. They also don't suffer the financial aspects of being on strike. Swine....

I'm glad to see this list of shame posted. Effing scabs!

  • Huh? These aren't scabs. There is a BIG difference between a scab & someone who suspends their voting rights during a strike to keep working. It was their right to do that & there was nothing wrong w/it. Most of what the union was fighting for wasn't going to impact the soap writers anyway!! eom
  • You may not feel they did anything wrong, but the WGA feels differently (inside) -- Rhonda
  • And here's the letter from the WGA (inside) -- Rhonda
  • The WGA may not be thrilled, but these were their own rules that were adhered to. No one did anything illegal or even wrong! If the union doesn't want members to be able to go 'fi-core' then it shouldn't be an option! eom
  • I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this point or risk being ''reported!'' -- Rhonda eom
