I don't know how true this is but..At the OLTL Luncheon...He was asked about how he felt about the scenes he's doing with Marty reliving their past history & he said "sure, gang rape is fun!"

He was also asked about Evangeline & did he want REG back he said. " I liked working with her but she will never be back, it's not going to happen, stop asking for it, people need to give it a rest."

Supposedly he apologized for the gang rape comment the following day.

  • OK I guess it is true. There's an apology on soapnet.com I guess some fans got offended by the comment..G
  • Oh good grief! Sarcasm! No one with an IQ over 70 would believe that he really believes that gang rape is fun. eom/sea
  • I have a very sarcastic sense of humor and TSJ's alleged comment about gang rape just drips of it. However, not everyone has a sarcastic bent and I can see why people would be insulted and why TSJ felt he needed to apologize. Wanda Wolek
  • There is a big problem in America..no one has a sense of humor anymore and everyone's 'feelings' are sooo important. L.A.
  • Of course he was joking but I guess it's a sensitive subject for some who don't want the actor to make light of his rapist character. I thought since the last time he spoke about Todd in public & all the backlash for that it would be the last. He really needs to follow in RH's no press footsteps.....G
  • G, to me there's a difference between joking and being sarcastic. Sarcasm implies that the exact opposite is intended from the actual words that are said. So, in that way TSJ wouldn't be making light of Todd's gang-rapist past. He would be in essence saying - ''those scenes were not fun at all'. Wanda
  • Well if that's the case then why did he feel the need to contact ABC & put out an apology to the viewers?. I don't see the big deal because I already know HE doesn't get how controversial his character is. He's new to daytime & doesn't understand how serious some soap viewers are about their shows & characters. I just think that no matter what he say's about Todd it'll get spun....G
  • G, you may be right that TSJ meant what he allegedly said as a joke. I don't know. As I said the words to me reeked of sarcasm. As for making the apology, it could be because he realized that some people do not ''get'' sarcasm. Some people take what is said at face value, and words in print (which a comment like this would surely land) do not carry vocal inflection or have the benefit of the speaker's expression. Things people say nowadays, especially with the Internet, tend to get blown out of proportion because a) words taken out of context and without vocal nuance and b) people tend to think the worst of each other. Wanda
  • IA There are times I write something on a MB & get a weird response. I'm like WHAT? I didn't say that! But, as for the apology. He made the comment in a room full of OLTL viewers & then it was brought to the internet when he asked ABC to put out the apology..inside..G
  • Thank you, G, for posting what he said. I have to give him credit that he didn't use that non-excuse of an excuse where he's only sorry if anyone took offense. That modern day excuse has the apologist taking no responsibility and putting it all on the offended party. Wanda
  • No problem Wanda...G
