I'll be a devil's advocate here-I don't condone Todd's actions, but this is a soap and Todd is the way he is. About children's rights: where are Markko's parents?! We know Langston doesn't have any. But honestly, on what planet where children ever been taught that it OK to lie and endanger your friends' health? Starr is pregnant-she needs to be seeing a doctor. Todd is volatile in regard to Cole.
If the kids had any guidance about telling the truth, they wouldn't find themselves in these crazy messes. If I were one of Markko's parents, I would tell this boy to find some new friends. Why does Langston care if Todd ever realizes the truth about Starr?
It is a shame that the writers Todd had to go to these extremes to get the kids to talk. This is bad writing.
I hate this SL. But watch-someone will probably be nominated for an Emmy in this crazy SL (Next to Marcie, of course).

LJ, I was just thinking that today - where are Markko's parents? Or a big brother. Or an uncle. This kid is showing up with bruises from beatings and no one from his family has raised a stir? Bad writing. What I'd love is for one of Markko's older brothers - a very big older brother that is built like a Latino Brodie - to come looking for Todd and give him a righteous beat-down. It's getting to the point to where I'm surprised some children's rights or advocacy groups don't start complaining. If this were a primetime show I bet it would much more talked about.

There are worse things than teens being hit. Have you ever seen the movie
It cut me off up there.
Don't use quotation marks. Use just one quote. eom/Ruthie
Is that why I got cut off?
Yes, that is why you got cut off. You can use the apostrophe key twice, or as Ruthie said, just use one quotation mark, but if you put in the two, you will get cut off. Don't know why, its just that way.

When people stop blaming Todd's victims for what he inflicts on them.

Really???
I'm tired of people blaming the kids for every time Todd loses control. Should they know that Todd will lose control? Yes. But what are Langston and Markko to do? They think Starr and Cole are relying on them, and like good teen friends, they are trying to honor that. It puts them in harms way. If a mad dog was attacking Starr and/or Cole they would try to stop that dog. Well, Todd is a mad dog right now. God knows, I've watched this character since his inception and I find the character interesting, but I don't always like him. Wanda
Marko and Langston are bringing this on themselves. What kind of friends are they of Starr's? Helping her run away? Real smart.
Sixteen and seventeen year old kids, mature as they might seem, are still going to side with their friends. Marko and Langston didn't suggest to Starr and Cole that they run away, they are trying to help them because that's what teenagers do, they help their friends if they are so set in something. //Donna
Thank you, Donna. That is what I was trying to say. Right or wrong, they are trying to help their friends. They didn't tell Cole and Starr to run away, but they've got their backs while they're doing it. Todd has every right to be mad. Todd does not have any right to physically threaten them. He has other recourses. Heck, drag them into Ramsey. But no, he uses violence and threats of violence to get what he wants. Pathetic. Wanda
Wow!! These kids can do no wrong can they???
Miss.Bear, do you not read the messages? I said Langston and Markko are wrong for helping Starr and Cole, but I understand why they did it. But whether or not they are wrong, that does not excuse your precious Todd for hanging them on meathooks, threatening them with knives, and beating the living daylights out of them. Where is he taking responsiblity??? And I don't believe for one second he was being truthful about that with Starr. He'll say anything to get her home. Wanda
As Langston said to Dorian, Starr & Langston consider themselves to be 'Cramer Women', so they stick together. They think of themselves as family, not just friends. eom
Wanda, I believe Todd was being truthful with Starr. He loves her. At least he's trying. I can't say the same of Starr at this point.
