A friend of mine loaned me her 1991 Dark Shadows dvds and I had forgotten that Roy Thinnes (ex-Sloan Carpenter) was in the show as Roger Collins. I had also received my first season collection of The Invaders in the mail on Saturday, so naturally, I watched some of that and found and old tape with Viki and Sloan and made a Sloan Carpenter weekend of it. How funny is that? BTW, I have to say, he is a truly gifted actor. It's a shame he left the show. You could see he was slated to do good work in The Invaders and he was as polished as ever in Dark Shadows. I truly miss him. It's a shame he's not in the 40th Anniversary special. It would be nice to see him again.
On a different note, has anyone seen him in DS or Invaders and what did you think?

Message: I thought Louis Edmonds played Roger Collins. I watched DS from 1968 to 1971 and Edmonds played Roger throughout that period of time. Now Roy did play Roger on the night time version of DS......

Message: I always thought that Roy Thinnes was a very capable actor but he always came across as so cold in his roles so I was not looking forward to seeing him on OLTL.I was pleasantly surprised at how warm and loving he was with Viki on the show.Of course,I would have preferred that the Buchannans had stayed married but since they didnt,Sloan was worthy of the match.He also had some very moving death scenes.I was sorry to see him go.
