At Roxy's request (panicked begging actually), Charlie is pretending to be Rex's father. The only people who know that's not true are Charlie, Jared, Dorian, probably Nigel, and now Natalie. Charlie's been using the Balsom name, because he picked it off a flyer about Roxy's salon, but he didn't realize who the Balsoms were. In AA tradition, he told Viki his name was Charlie B. His and Jared's real name is Banks, even though Jared is pretending to be a Buchanan.

Rex is Shane's father, but neither knows that yet. And Rex's real birth father is unknown - due to the scab writing during the strike, that story was all over the place. First Roxy was scared that Rex would learn his real father's identity because he was supposedly a really scary man (that's why she begged Charlie to step in). Later, Roxy said she was really drunk in those days and it could have been any one of the men she took home, and she really had no clue who Rex's father really was. Then we learned that Charlie supposedly spent time as a drunk in Atlantic City in the same time period, suggesting that maybe it was possible he really was Rex's father. Who knows what the real writers will do now, but I don't think they ever meant for Charlie to really be Rex's father.

Oh, and the only people who know that David is the real Buchanan are Nigel, Jared, Natalie, Max, and Alex. Nigel told Max the truth when Max was there for Asa's funeral. Alex overheard and married the clueless David, but Nigel paid her off with his own inheritance from Asa (the yacht and the island). Dorian knows that Jared is pretending and that Charlie is really his father, but she doesn't know who the real Buchanan is. And today's show, David told Jared and Natalie he knows 'everything' but he really means that he knows Jared is faking and that he and Natalie are sleeping together. He has no clue he's the real Buchanan, but of course Jared and Natalie will be freaked thinking he does know.

Wow, thanks for expanding that . I knew Max and Nigel and Jared knew. .. about David and Alex, too. i didn't know that Nigel gave up his inheritance to get rid of Alex though. Good for him. (WHY doesn't Nigel want David to know) But the rest was pretty much new to me. I wonder when they are gonna let David know he's a Buchanan? (cookie)

That was the biggest question I had, who is Rex's dad. Wonder who it will be? Roxie talked to some guy once I remember, but I can't remember WHO the guy was that she was talking to and saying he was Rex's dad. Whew!

I wonder now if Rex and Adrianna will get married now.
