Subject: But Vanessa is guilty of shooting someone .. is that not LAPD's area of concern? If Vanessa is staying in Landview, would she not be tried for attempted murder? So wouldn't the DA and police be involved in some way?

Subject: The local police would be involved in prosecuting the actual crime, then it would be up to INS to pursue deportation proceedings. Jail time for whatever the crime might be is served before deportation. Did that ace prosecutor the self-righteous Nora Hannon Gannon Buchanan Whatever decide to let her go?
