How many elevator rides do you need to take to get stuck once?

The book says you should get stuck once out of every 100,000 elevator rides. Personally, I have been stuck more times than the average person. A place I used to work had a freight elevator that we rode on each time we went after materials. It was an old, worn out elevator that should have been condemned and replaced back in the 30's but they were still using it. I couldn't even begin to guess how many times that elevator got stuck. But in regular elevators outside of where I worked, I was only stuck once that I remember, and that was less than a year ago.

I'd think once would do it, but if you're asking for averages, I'll go with....1 in 3,000 rides.    I've been stuck once and I rode elevators at work for years.

I would say lots and lots. I've only ever been stuck once, and that was in a freight elevator that stopped just short of the floor I was going to. So I could see out. Even that was no fun. Since I have to guess a number, I'll say 300?
