The race to the SEMI-FINALS!!
I'm beginning to think Tom's humor and hosting abilities are rubbing off on Samantha. She is much more at ease and quite humorous. Not on his level (yet)!
We see recaps and recaps and recaps and the judges kibbitz! Len is being won over by Lance although he still thinks his technique is lacking. He's not the only one but all are entertaining.
Encore Dance Warren and Kym's Tango. He did portions tonight better than last night. No pressure goes a long way and they get a standing ovation. I'm probably more thrilled for Kym although I do like the big guy!
Juliane is back and looks wonderful. Tonight, on ET, I heard her singing Christmas tunes for her CD - wonderful voice!
Dancing With The Stars has been nominated as Best Reality Show - People's Choice!
Brad Paisley: I'm not into country BUT great sound, great song and great lookin' guy! I'm not a big Benji fan (felt Travis should have won) and feel his movement is very repetitive. They did some fancy schmancy stuff and are great dancers but pale in comparison to the other siblings - much more polished. Fun to watch though!

First 2 Safe Couples: Warren/Kym and Lance/Lacey (whew - was worried about L&L)
No Dance Center? No little kids' competition? Noooo we get Doctor Drew's analysis??? No, no, no. This is wrong on so many levels and has no place on this show. Hated it (even though Cody was too sweet). Tom adds we don't just challenge their bodies we mess with their minds.
Dancing the JIVE in the winning costume are Derek and sister Julianne. Great dance - fab costumes and routine. Loved it through and through especially them dancing with the winning designer.
Brad Paisley: Another great song and he's a wonderful performer. Our pros, from the LIVE tour, are top notch as always and never disappoint. Women HOT in red costumes. Afterward Tom sits with them to chat. He teases Maks, the LIVE choreographer, about his hair. Toni Braxton will dance AND sing on the tour.
Anatomy of a dancer? The filler tonight is the worst. I want the kids and Kenny Mayne, Jerry Rice and Len! For this we go over by two minutes when none of it is needed! They should look at their numbers to see that a lot of viewers tune in to the last 10 minutes of the results show, ONLY, just to see the elimination and skip the filler.
Next Safe Couple: Brooke and Derek
In Jeopardy: Maurice/Cheryl and Cody/Edyta
Going Home: Maurice and Cheryl. He is gracious and chooses to dance his last dance with his daughter. When his name is announced as leaving we hear the teens SCREAM because Cody is safe.
I refused to watch an entire hour of recap so I tuned in at about 9:25 I started watching the results show. I ff'd through the commercials and a lot of the filler, but had to pause to answer the phone and didn't wind up finishing until after 10:00. I get to the part where Maurice and cody are standing there with the rid lights shining down and the Tivo recording turns off. I have it set to record from 9-10 and since the new fun trend is to have shows run 2-5 minutes over, I didn't see Maurice go. I am SO DISGUSTED with this trend. It's driving me crazy. Desperate Housewives does it, this show does it. It's ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enough!!!!!!!!! If the damn show is supposed to end at 10, end it at 10!!!!!!!!!! I had to call my sister at 10:30 to find out who went home.
I'm sorry to see Maurice go. I think he was better than Cody and even though it's not fair that Cody had to dance with someone else for the past two weeks, he should have gone. I don't think Maurice would have won, but I would have liked to see him dance again.
The filler was painful last night. Why can't this be 30 minutes?
They need to can the brother/sister dances. It's just getting icky.

The Encore Dance was enjoyable. I really like Kym .
Julianne looks great and I've also heard some of her Christmas music. This girl really needs to find her talent!! (lol)
Brad Paisley was rather enjoyable. However, I don't enjoy Benji (Mr. Spinner) and Lacey is Lacey. Re: Travis ....he was ROBBED!!!!! The second dance with the pros was SO much better. Loved Mak's reply to his shorter hair!!!!
Julianne and Derek were marvelous and fun as usual. Loved that Jive so much better than Lacey and ''Mr. Spinner''. It seems as though Julianne did a lot of pre-taping before her surgery.
DR DREW - Just what was THAT all about??? Please, let's see Dance Center (so funny) and the dancing kids (cute and talented).

I'm not sure the right person left but I suppose it doesn't matter IF Brooke takes home the shiny ball. Cody seems to have a teen fan base just as I've seen on the forums, yet he's in the bottom. Go figure!

My thoughts...
There is entirely too much filler. I hated it, especially Dr. Drew. I really, really wish they'd continue with the Kid Dancers instead of all this other crap.
It's really a shame it's taken Samantha so long to get with the program...she's great this year. I've complained a lot about her in the past, but this year I've been all about praise for her hosting skills.
The Encore dance is my favorite part of the show...we're seeing one of the best dances repeated without the pressure. It's so amazing what that can do...that's when we see the best of the dancer.
Good to see Julianne back and dancing great. It will be interesting to see how Cody does next week with his original partener. I also saw her on ET.
Brad Paisley...I'd heard of the guy, but not being a country fan I hadn't heard him sing. He's not bad.
Lacey and Benji dancing was fun. Julianne and Derek dancing was better...more variety.
Maurice leaving was as expected. Loved the dancing with his daughter.

We are finally getting to the Semi-Finals next week. I can't believe that we are here already and at the same time, it seems like forever, LOL!
Encore Dance—Liked seeing this dance once more. It was a good one for Warren.

Dr. Drew was as boring as I said last night. I think it was something that each couple should go through giving the nature of the stressful competition, but I don’t think we need to see it. That is something personal between each couple. I guess there is no Privacy Act with Dr. Drew and DWTS.
Macy’s Stars of Dance w/Julianne & Derek-"Great Balls of Fire"—Fantastic!! It was so nice to see Julianne back again but I didn’t think she would be doing that stressful a dance routine. All those flips and carrying Derek on her shoulders? Was that good for just having surgery even if it was through her bellybutton? I didn’t think Julianne was supposed to sing until next week but when they said she was going to perform, I didn’t think they meant dance. I thought that it might be too soon. Obviously, it wasn’t! We’ll hear her sing next week. It was a terrific dance to say the least and I liked the costumes. The winning design was very good. They both looked cute! I guess this was brother and sister night.
Brad Paisley & Pro-six-"Let The Good Times Roll"—I’m surprised that I liked this song, too, since I’m not a country fan. Another Fantastic dance!! That was just great! I loved Maks’ comment about why his hair was so short—"I cut it." Simple as that.
Anatomy of a Dancer—It was interesting but just get on with the results. This filler time is just too much. Change the show to a half hour show and eliminate some of this stuff.
Elimination—I don’t know who I was hoping for. I wanted Maurice to stay after he did so well the night before, but I also wanted Cody to stay so he had another chance to dance with Julianne. I didn’t think it would be fair of him to be voted out when he might not have done his best with a new partner. It was a toss-up for me. Unfortunately, Maurice was the one voted off, but I would have felt the same if it were the other way around.
Next week--Week 9: One redone Ballroom dance & Final unlearned Latin dance from Week 1 to 4 (Len Goodman's Masterclass)

I caught a few minutes of Brad Paisley singing, I am a Brad fan! He and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley (she's on 'According to Jim') are expecting their 2nd baby.

So I tune in at 8pm, and they keep repeating the dances from last night. Where are the results, I wonder. Then I find out this is a 2 hour binge!! Doesn't ABC have anything better to do these days?
I switched over to hockey and came back to see the last 5 minutes. I figured it would be Maurice. I'll be glad when this season is done.

I think I found the perfect combination....
I did not watch last night -
I watched the first hour to she just the dances
Then went over to biggest loser and backspaced to the beginning
and came here to read who went home - perfect.
Where do they think having the Dr talk to the contestants would possibly be entertaining for anyone?
I think that the producers of this show insult their fans by how they fill the spaces - I have been dumbed down in my life by the best....I've had teenagers - but, the producers of this show take the cake.
