Topic: Rusty's topic got me drooling... I mean, thinking about seafood...

Additional Comments: When you are going out to eat, specifically for seafood, what do you order?

I LOVE shrimp and scallops. Prepared any way! Especially the "Szechwan under the Sea" version at P.F. Changs!

Lobster is good and all, but for the price, it's just not something I would order out. And if I want crab legs, I much rather prefer buying them and having them at home.

If I'm in one of those stages of life where I'm trying to eat "healthier", (I hate when I'm going through one of those phases!!), then I like to order grilled Tilapia. That's a nice white fish.

So, what'll ya have?

I love whole Maine lobster, but it was a lot cheaper when I lived on the East Coast. Once in a while, I'll still get one at the Red Lobster.

My top favorites are shrimp and grouper (a mild fish which is found off the gulf coast of FL) and the occasional lobster.   I haven't seen grouper anywhere since we left FL.   I miss it.    We aren't huge seafood lovers, but since living here where I can't get it any time I want it, I crave it a lot.   I do love grilled salmon if I have some mayo w/ dill in it to dip it in.    And very occasionally I get a yen for some fried catfish (a southern thing I think.)

  • Oh, and the lemon pepper shrimp at PF Changs is one of my favorite things in the world! Now I'm drooling. Gail
  • Mmmmm, I love grouper. It's all I order when we are in Florida. Is there a shortage lately...? The last couple times I visited the state, it had been pulled from a couple menus. Anyway, do you make your own dill sauce for the salmon? I would love the recipe if you do. We eat salmon a lot and I'm getting a little bored with it. Thanks! Bunk
  • Yes, I do make my own dill sauce. The recipe is really hard though. LOL Take some mayo (Hellman's Real) and put in a small bowl. Mix in some dried dill. Voila! We love that on asparagus too. Gail
