Topic: Couple of questions about the board

Additional Comments:

1. Is it just me - MD seems to be taking a long time to load the past day or so. I keep thinking we're on the verge of another crash.

2. Anyone else have to sign in almost every time you want to post? The editing tips provided by MD do not work for me - maybe because I use a Mac. Whatever - it's just irritating.

anymore. :-( I can't ''go back'' or edit to change it either. Like Rusty, I use FireFox.

But I haven't had any trouble with pages loading. I usually just re-start my computer if it starts being slow.

  • I seem to have spoken too soon about loading fast. Now it is back to where it's been the last few days - sloooooow. Every other site I visit loads so much faster. Did you try the 'edit' trick the board listed? . . . . . . .g

Good morning and thanks for all the responses.

After my complaint of slow-loading, this morning it was super fast. Go figure.

As for the editing – I am a Mac user and have both Firefox and Safari for browsers. I wish IE had remained current for Mac people, but it didn’t.

Here is what I do when using Firefox. It might work for others, also.
    1. When I get to the page where I have to fill in my name and password, I do that.
    2. Then, before doing anything else, I go up to Firefox Preferences.
    3. Show cookies, and delete only Media Domain.
    4. Then go to Advanced - Office Storage, and clear cache.
    5. Only then do I preview my post. At this point I can go back and forth without any problem.

Usually this fix lasts a day.

Sorry if I’ve totally confused anyone.

I had one incident yesterday where it took a while to load. The password thing goes in spurts for me. Currently, it's fine. I hope it doesn't go down again...

I have had trouble with having to enter my password/editing some in the past few months, but (knock wood) the problem seems to have disappeared for me.    If you want to edit, you can just hit the ''back'' button twice and it works the same.    Well at least with Internet Explorer it does.

I use Firefox and need to enter my password for every post even after using the directions posted at the top of the board. That means when I want to change my name to Rustyclaus, I have to use Internet Explorer instead.

I am a Mac user, too and also have the editing problem. I tried the cookie clearing which was recommended for Foxfire, however I use Seamonkey and it didn't make a difference. I have been using the back arrow to make changes and have to repost my name when I do.

It's been loading slowly for me, as well. I go back and forth between having to put my password in and sometimes not. Thankfully, I use Firefox which automatically enters it for me. I also figured out that if I just hit the back button instead of the edit button, I don't lose everything I've typed.
