I'm here.   Anyone else?    I hope you are feeling better pickles!

To get things started, when you show up, tell me what you had for dinner tonight.    I just got through cleaning up the kitchen.    Have spend most of the day in it making chicken salad, homemade veggie soup, and stewed apples.    It was worth the work.....I think.

What did YOU have for dinner?    Oh yeah, I have apple pie (that I did NOT bake) in the fridge for dessert after while too.    I bought it at the Farmer's Market Thursday.     I also got some tomatoes which was wunnerful since ours petered out sev. weeks ago.

Haven't read everything yet, but I'll tell you that I made homemade pizza on whole wheat flat bread for dinner.  It's pretty South Beach friendly, but I'm sure we use too much cheese.

Just finished watching the Cubs-Dodgers.  REALLY don't want to talk about it.

Hope everyone is well.

I'm back. Is anyone still here? I don't have to keep putting in my password.

  • Hey Blink. I just cleaned up my cookies and restarted my computer, but I'm still having trouble. I just typed a response up a few posts that completely disappeared. Very strange. :( What did you have for dinner? Or did you post that below and I missed it! I don't think anyone else is here anymore... Bunk
  • Sorry you're having computer problems. They can be annoying. I had a salad for dinner. Not too exciting. I was out of frozen dinners...I'm such a cook NOT...Blinkie
  • I'm back. Was watching some TV and resting my back. I'm still having to enter my password EVERY time I post. And hit the back button instead of the edit button. Argh. Gail
  • Hi Gail. I understand the back pain from sitting at the computer. Not fun. Have you cleared the cookies from this site. Sometimes that helps. Firefox automatically puts in my password when I need it, which is nice. It hasn't been asking me tonight at all, though...Blinkie
  • Yes, I cleared the cookies three times earlier in the week and then decided I'd write to Michael. He's working on it. I've had this happen before but it always straightened out once I deleted my cookies and reopened the browser. No such luck this time. Gail
  • Do you have another browser you could try and use for the time being? I have both IE and Firefox that I use at different times...Blinkie
  • Blinkie, I am going to have to say ''adios'' because I'm not a night owl any more, especially on Saturday night when I have to get up at 7:30 in the morning. It is almost 11:00 here. Goodnight. Goodnight to whoever else is still here also. :-D Gail
  • No, MIE is the only browser I've ever used. I've never even SEEN another kind of browser. Gail
  • Good night...Blinkie
  • When you have more time, we'll talk about Firefox!...Blinkie
  • Okay. Inside for more info...

I just got home from going out for a really nice supper for my birthday. I'm tired and I am going to bed. Working midnights is really draining me. I am on meds right now for phlebitis in my leg and they aren't making me feel the greatest. On top of that I think my kid has given me his cold so I am going to go put on my fuzzy pj's and snuggle down under my blankies.

Have a fun Sat. night everyone!

  • Is today your birthday? Happy Birthday!! I hope you're feeling better soon. Go make yourself a nice cup of lemon tea, or better yet, a cup of hot chocolate. :) I hope you get a good night's rest! Bunk
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY! :-) Gail
  • Happy Birthday from me, as well...Blinkie

I'm having to type my password each and every time, also. Annoying And I can't Edit either. When it takes me back to the edit screen, it's BLANK.

For dinner? Movie popcorn, red licorice, and diet soda! (Do you all say 'pop' or 'soda'?)

Mr. Bunk had a work party and we had no babysitter. So, I took the kids to see BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA. Yes, you read that right...

It was actually pretty entertaining. Now I'm home, drinking a glass of red wine. Anyone still here?

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Sounds like a good dinner. LOL You can get back to your msg. by hitting the ''back'' button Bunk. I am going to try deleting my cookies again tomorrow and see if Michael has the problem fixed yet. Gail

Hi guys!  I made the best soup tonight - cabbage patch soup.  It has bacon, cabbage, onions, carrots, peas, chicken broth and sour cream.  Yum.  It feels so good on the tummy too.  My husband liked it a lot.  We had a cold, blustery day today and I thought it was a good time for homemade soup.  Love soup.

My daughter and family just moved to Saipan and I can hardly believe it but I'm able to dial her direct.  They are 17 hours ahead of us, so I have some figuring to do before I call.  She says it is beautiful there with lovely beaches, bright blue sea and lots of coconut and palm trees.  They will be stationed there for two years.  From the time she left Phoenix until they arrived in Saipan, it was 26 hours with all the layovers, etc.  I will miss her, but don't feel too far away as long as I can talk to her every day.

How is the weather where you all are?  We are supposed to have rain, wind and cold weather for as far as the weathermen can see.  Winter is here!

    Dottie

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Hey, Dottie. Where is Saipan? I guess I could Google it... Geography was never my strong suit! The weather is cold. 51 degrees right now, going down to low 40's tonight. I'm glad I got the rest of the tomatos off the vine today. Your soup sounds YUMMY. Bunk
  • Terry went to the Phillipines for a conference years ago and when he got back home, he slept for so many hours straight I had to check to see if he was breathing occasionally. I just googled Saipan. It is in the Pacific close to Guam (that's for Bunk.) Your soup sounds good Dottie. I love soup too. Our weather has been gorgeous for several weeks. Highs about 80 and lows in the 50s. Loving it! Unfortunately, I know that isn't going to last much longer. :-( Gail
  • I've been so worried because they took their two big dogs that had to ride in the luggage part of the plane and their cat was in a carrier with them in the cabin. From Seattle to Tokyo is 11 1/2 hours and I was so afraid the dogs would be dead by the time they got there, but my worries were for nothing (as usual) and they are fine. I didn't sleep for several days just worrying and I was so tired after she called to tell me they had arrived okay that I took half a sleeping pill and slept for 12 hours. Even when your kids are grown, you never stop worrying about them. She said it is very hot and humid in Saipan, but the water is so blue and clear. They have lovely beaches, just like Hawaii. Dottie

Is anyone still around? I miss the Sat Chat, because I'm usually bored out of my mind on Saturday nights.

To answer your first question, I made a salad with tuna in it. I think it's finally going to cool off here, so this is probably my last summer dinner....hopefully!

The game I play on the computer mostly is spider solitaire. I'm kind of afraid to check out stacker, because I've hurt my arm playing too many computer games in the past, and that one sounds habit forming!

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • I guess I missed everyone. I'm going to watch my recording of Lipstick Jungle, and then I'll check back...Blinkie
  • I love tuna as an adult. Didn't care for it much as a kid. Tuna casserole is sounding good to me! I hadn't made it in probably 30 years until I made the hot chicken salad recipe. I decided it would make a great tuna casserole dish too with a bit of tweaking and I was right. OMG, we have made me hungry again. Not hard to do. :-) Gail
  • I can't cook at all. Once in a while, I'll buy a tuna noodle thing that Stauffers makes. Usually, I'll buy one of those packages of albacore and dump half of it in a salad. It's so much easier than draining a can of tuna, and I only deal with easy in my kitchen. LOL...Blinkie

So, what's been your latest freezer suprise? You know... when you root around for something, and find something you had NO idea was in there?

Mine was tonight, and it was a nice one. I was looking for the frozen peaches, and found a quart-size container of last year's Heavenly Ham from Christmas. YUM!

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • That was a find! Mine would be when I got home from grocery shopping earlier in the week and was trying to make room for some new stuff and found some raspberries. Like you though, I need some ice cream to put them on. Gail
  • Yeah, raspberries would be a great find. I never bought any this summer... they were just so high. We went to Kroger tonight, got 2 bags of stuff, TP and beer, and it was $40 bucks. I'm so sick of these prices going up and up. - Doopy

Hi peeps! I got a nice pork tenderloin on sale the other day, so I sliced it tonight. Froze half and cooked the other half. I threw a bag of that steam-bag corn in the microwave, dumped some salad from a bag, and viola, we had a great meal.

No dessert tonight. Tomorrow is John's birthday and the only thing he wants is a peach cobbler. Yum!

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN! Hi Doopy! He'd be outta luck if he wanted me to make him a peach cobbler. Well, I guess if he asked real purty like, I might make him one. I am loving those steaming veggie bags. Do they simplify a meal or what? :-D Gail
  • I had a dish of peaches in the freezer from a bunch I got at the farmers mkt this summer. I'll do the topping with Bisquick... wish now I'd have picked up some vanilla bean ice cream at the grocery tonight! - Doopy
  • I am eating a piece of apple pie w/ cheddar cheese melted on top as we speak. So much for my short -lived diet. LOL Gail
  • I have never understood the desire to add cheese to my pie. Kinda like putting mustard on ice cream. ;-D - Doopy
  • I was just sitting here thinking that I'm so happy someone made me try a bite of apple w/ cheddar melted on it. It is the bomB! Have you ever TRIED it? Gail
  • No, cause the thought of it kinda gags me. Sorry... - Doopy
  • Well then, you can't say you don't like it then. :-P OH! Guess what! After 33 years of me telling Terry how good guacamole is and him resisting, he took another bite (hasn't taken a bite in years) when we had fahitas at Chili's and said, ''This is good.'' Haha. Information I told him eons ago! Gail
  • Sorry, but I'll put the mustard on the ice cream first. That actually sounds better to me than cheezy pie. Ugh. - Doopy

Here's another question for yas.     What game are you playing online the most these days?    I am still hookt on Stacker.    I have been at level 14 for about two mos. now, but won't give up because at level 15 you get orange balls.    Heh.    I love that you stay at the same level, although I kicked myself back to the beginning and it took me a couple of months to make it back to 14.   I got to level 13 pretty quickly, but then got stuck for awhile.

I also have saved a BUNCH of paintings and photos from the internet (including some you all have posted) to my Jigzone account.   I uploaded some beautiful ones the other day.    I probably only spend about 20 minutes a day playing Stacker, but don't plan to quit until I get to 15.   I may be 80.

  • My morning game, the one I use to wake myself up, these days is Agness II solitare. It's just okay, which is good, because I've been trying to get out and walk before work a few times a week. - Doopy
  • Haven't heard of that one. I've been so hooked on Stacker in the last many months, I rarely ever play anything else. Gail
