Your headlights (what were you thinking? )to on-coming traffic to let them know a police car is hiding around the bend? People doing that to me have saved my bacon several times.
Mr Weezer, in his early years, flashed when the cop could see his tail lights still (DDDDDDDUH) and he got arrested or a ticket for interferring in police business or something like that - so, he refuses to flash to this day.

Message: Yes, I have flashed the car headlights before and have had others flash at me. It is always helpful. Maybe that is why I have never had a speeding ticket. :-)

Message: My dad was a trucker for a long time and he always flashed in his truck and in the car with us. Hubby was also a trucker for a lot of years and they used CB's to warn others. Neither of us bother with it anymore, in fact, I rarely see anyone do it.

Message: When we were college aged, we would do that. Not since. However, in the 70's when CB radios were all the rage we got one and were handing out (and getting) Smokey reports all over the place when we were traveling. Terry got stopped on a parkway in KY at night by one and he told him to tell his wife that there WERE Smokey Bears on that highway. I was sooooooooooo embarrassed because I had been on the radio yakking it up to some truck driver about the Bears. Oops.
