How is your dad doing? Did he have that test or xray?

A few weeks ago they were going to schedule him for a cat scan because he had been rapidly losing weight. Before the cat scan they did some blood work and his blood sugar was really high. So his oncologist postponed the cat scan because his blood sugar was too high and he sent my dad to a 'diabetic doctor'. They have diagnosed him with Type 2 Diabetes so he is now on an oral medication and has to watch his diet. He'll be meeting with the dietician at the hospital soon to help him understand what he should and shouldn't be eating.
Both of these doctors are concerned about his heart and they sent him to a cardiologist. He had a cardiagram (hope that's the right word) and we're waiting to get the results back. My dad has a mitral valve prolapse and didn't know he had it (apparently it's a genetic birth defect) until he collapsed at work one day in the mid-80's and was taken to the hospital with chest pains. They thought he was having a heart attack but turned out to be this MVP, the doctors then told him he would probably need a pacemaker one day. I hope his results come back in soon so we know what's really going on.
That's all I know at this point. I will update when I learn more. I don't know how much one man is supposed to take, it just doesn't seem fair. Then again, I guess none of us has the promise that our lives will be fair. It just hurts that he keeps getting stuff piled on him. He never shows any fear though, he always says 'I'm fine' when you ask him how he's feeling, even when he knows you know better. lol! That's just the way he is, he rarely complains just don't get him talking about politics. lol!
Thanks so much for thinking of him! He doesn't know that I have half the people on the internet praying for him. :)
