The Superbowl Champ, the model and the boy bander. They will repeat a dance and the rest is in the hands of the judges combined scores for tonight and last night equals 50% and the viewers 50%.
We see a where's Waldo type skit of Cloris. We'll see a few of these in the first hour. Then there are clips week to week as we see the contestants dance FULL dances. We saw 106 dances from week one until tonight.
Alicia Keys: another beauty and very cool dancers.
Jeffrey & Edyta: Quick Step - much better - is he taking lessons (heh).
Ted & Ina: Fox Trot - a cutie - glad he was here.
Kim & Mark: Mambo - oy not even as good as the 1st time.
MISTY ON HER FEET - yes!! Tom asks how's the tendon mendin'? I really think if she's up to it we'll see her next Fall.
Rocci & Karina: Mambo - I find him a very sexy non-dancer.
Toni & Alec are interviewed. She can't dance due to minor surgery but will dance and sing on the tour.
Cloris & Corky: Tango - so glad they chose this and not one of the antic filled abominations. Samantha mentions her Emmys, Oscar and Golden Globe and asks how this compares. Cloris says to pregnancy and Tom says well you certainly delivered and got groaning boos (LOL)!!
Susan & Tony: Paso Doble - she's still awkward but tries so hard.
Maurice & Cheryl: Salsa - their best dance. Love him, too.
Jeffrey's Roast: He can't dance and is the modern day (blue) Don Rickles but really is a genuine guy. He jokes that out of 12 (usually) he was voted off 13th and before an 82 year old. Says he was injured before it was cool. Cloris' numbers should have been 9-1-1 - she danced like Weekend At Bernie's The Musical. Says Brooke gave birth to her 15th child today and Lance is the father. The baby came out of the womb AND the closet the same day. Says Warren practiced 3 months and 8 hours a day and is still out of shape. Ends by saying you're all winners!
Cody & Julianne: Jitterbug - wonderful fun. Was that Vanessa Hudgens in the audience? Man they are going for the Disney set!
Hour two (plus 10) begins with the theme from Star Wars as they reveal our final three couples.
Warren & Kym: HUSTLE
he says without Kim there is no Warren - I'm dead without her. Before he said it (later) I'm thinking I still get to see him on Inside The NFL. Love him but I'm thinking he'll take 3rd.
Len: not the judges champ but you are the public's champ. 9
Bruno: craftiest hustler of them all. 9
Carrie: special - you make us all want to dance. 9
TOTAL: 80 of 90
Lance & Lacey: JITTERBUG
Lance says she's a pain in my butt but a friend for life. Powerful energy and the shoe stayed on. Love when girls lift the boys.
Bruno: no doubt you are a great showman. Panache and flair. 10
Carrie: great both times but struggled on the lift. So deserve to be here. 9
Len: Sparked and grown week to week. 9
TOTAL: 81 of 90
Tom says they are nothing but shameless as he asks us to vote DWTS for the People's Choice Award.
Brooke & Derek: VIENNESE WALTZ
He says she is born to dance and she says she wants to raise the trophy together. Lovely, flowing and fancy. The daughter kiss?!? Sob!
Carrie: you are a star from day one. Proved what you can do with your soul and deserve the trophy. 10
Len: dance of the season. 10
Bruno: Bellissima. Jewel in the crown of this grand finale. 10
TOTAL: 88 of 90
It sure seems like they danced in the order they will go out.
We see the reigning champ Kristi Yamagucci.
Miley Cyrus: FLY ON THE WALL. She's as good a performer as her dad is a dancer. Maybe I'd feel differently if I were a teen.
Third Place: Lance and Lacey. This is surprising. I like them all and no matter whose name was said I would be disappointed BUT I didn't think it would be Lance.
Tom talks to all the contestants and it's so sad to see Lance among them.
Second Place: (without hoopla) Warren and Kym
...and the winner(s) is/are:
Until next time............

Interesting incident involving Warren and Derek

I'm glad Brooke won but thought Lance would take the 2nd spot. I wonder if that Hip Hop worked against them, Lacey's remarks, and possibly a split in the votes between Warren and Lance. Obviously, the judges wanted Brooke to win. I felt a bit bad for Lance in 3rd place.
Thank you for all the great recaps and insights during the season. Just think....... 4 more months and you'll be doing it again!!!!!
(PS: thanks for the recipe)

I just finished watching the tape of it this morning. I watched about two-thirds of it last night but just couldn't stay awake any longer. I enjoyed the show. It was nice to see the others and some of them looked like their dancing had improved too. They could have done it in an hour and a half though. ;-) I was bracing myself for a Warren win, so I was thrilled that Brooke and Derek won!

And I was disappointed that Lance and Lacey came in third. Maybe next season they should have two winner's categories: Best Dancer and Best Personality/Entertainer. I can't imagine this season without Warren though and must say he is probably my favorite ''personality'' to ever be on the show.
Thank you so much W.E. for all of your work in putting up these recap posts. They truly make watching the show more fun. I look forward to seeing what you and others are thinking too.

Oh, the length of this show!! Two hours!! I didn't need to see all the people voted off dancing again. There's a reason they were voted off!
I had read that Cloris had been hospitalized with pneumonia so when Tom did the "Where has Cloris been" thing I thought that's where they were going and she wasn't going to be there. I was happy to see her up and doing well. Even though she was so annoying and overstayed her welcome, I give her major props for being 82 and getting out there. There was at least one week when she was better than some of her younger counterparts. Misty looked fantastic and I was happy to see her on her feet.
I have no opinion of Alicia Keys and her music isn't my thing.
Since I spend an inordinate amount of time seeing/hearing Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana (my daugher is 8), I thought she was very good. I think she's a very good entertainer and her voice isn't nearly as offensive to listen to as some of the other tween singers my daughter subjects me to.
Loved the roast! Some of the lines were shockingly funny and they all took it in stride.
Loved the three encore dances (Warren's was the best). Enough with the crying with Brooke's dancing. Yes the song was emotional and it was sweet that she kissed her daughters at the end, but shut up Carrie Ann. That didn't reduce me to tears and I cry at the drop of a hat.
Although Brooke wasn't my personal favorite, I'm glad she won. She definitely deserved it as she was the best dancer. If the trophy went to best entertainer however, Warren would have won hands down. I was far more excited to watch him than Brooke every week.
I'm not 100% sure I'm going to watch next season. This turned into a chore for me this year. I guess I'll see who the celebrities are and take it from there.
Thanks for all the recaps WE. They were always great to read the next day.

I don't want to brag, but before the season even started, when I learned Brooke would be on the show, I told Karen she was going to win. As soon as she began her first dance of the season I looked at Karen and said, ''yep, she won.'' I reminded Karen several times during the season who was going to win. LOL Can you tell Brooke Burke was one of my favorites? Thank you so very much for posting these recaps for us. I enjoyed them very much.

I enjoyed the show but, again, it could have been shorter. They didn't need all the guests. Just do the dancing, let the eliminated contestants get one more chance to shine and give us the results. With the anticipation of the Freestyle, the performance show seems to go much better than the Results show. Especially where the outcome seemed so predictable although it still could have changed. You never know with fanbases. It did change in some ways. I thought Lance would have been second but after last night's performance, I wasn't so sure. It turned out that hurt him so he came in third and it was back to what a lot of us were thinking some weeks ago...that it would be a Brooke/Warren final two.
The guests were fine but I didn't pay as much attention to them. We are going out of town for the holiday and my mind was on that. Did enjoy seeing Cloris as I had thought she was still ill from her pneumonia. All the other contestants were nice to see as their dances seemed improved probably because they didn't have the pressure. Kim was an exception.
I liked some of Jeffrey Ross's roast and some I didn't care for. It was different but just didn't seem right for this type of show. He really kept it clean, that's for sure. This is a family show.
I was happy to see Misty up and around and off her crutches. I hope they take her back again in a year and let her repeat as I think she will do quite well. I think she would have been giving Brooke a run for the title had it not been for her injury.
Warren & Kym-HUSTLE-“Funkytown”—More polished than the last time.
Lance & Lacey-JITTERBUG-“Jim Dandy”—Better than the last time. He didn’t lose his shoe or his focus because of it.
Brooke & Derek-VIENNESE WALTZ-“Daughters”—Beautiful! Just as wonderful as the last time, if not more. Such lovely arm work. She kissed two of her daughters this time. Last time only one was there. That is such a sweet ending!
I had thought that the third place person was told at the beginning of the show or at least in the first hour based on the viewer's voting. After that, the final two do one last dance that the judges score and the winner is determined from that. I can't remember how last season was done but I seem to recall that's how it was done when Marie Osmond was on the show and I thought the previous years to that. Even back to Mario and Emmitt, I only remember the two of them dancing, not Joey Lawrence on Results night. Did they change this or am I recalling this all wrong?
It was a nice season, not the best, but I'm glad to have the time to relax and not worry about it for awhile. You did a great job with the recaps, W.E. as busy as you were. Thanks.

You know I don't watch the show (I'm too hyper), but I always read your recaps. However, I can't remember who these couples are and which ones are the pros and which are the amateurs.
WE, would you mind putting up pictures with last names and why the heck I should have heard of them before now?
Thanks a bunch. Take your time, it doesn't have to be right away. I'd like to put a name to a face.

Even though I groaned about the length of the show, I liked most of it. Seeing all the dancers was entertaining and Cloris was tame. Good to see Misty walking around.
The final dance...
Warren/Kym...great fun and, as usual, entertaining. I love the guy. He sparkles!
Lance/Lacy...so much growth in both dancing and confidence with endless engery.
Brooke/Derek...perfect! beautiful dance and so much talent...the daughters kiss had me in tears.
and, the winner....
I was very happy with Brooke taking home the trophy. She has natural talent, is a beautiful dancer, and exhibits a very likable personality.
I was pleasantly surprised Warren came in second. He was the perfect entertainer and oozed with charm. Sure, he lacked in technique but he had audience appeal and it worked for him.
Lance worked so hard. I felt bad for him. On the other hand, maybe it was best that Lacey didn't win her first time out...she has the experience of being the teacher now and hopefully in the future will work harder to benefit the star.
This wasn't one of the best over all seasons but it did have some wonderful moments and fun. It also had oodles of injuries and one contestant that pushed the humor a bit too far.

One thing is for sure........it is always fun to come here and read your re-caps and comments. For that, THANK YOU!
And, March will be here before we know it!!!
