Topic: I'm just about done with FlashFoward

Additional Comments:  I finally got around to seeing last week's FlashForward this weekend, and it's just increasingly becoming bad soap opera with very, very little real suspense as far as what caused the blackout and what it means. The series started out strong, with a real sense of apocalyptic dread, but has pretty much lost all of that momentum. They haven't done anything to make many of the characters anything beyond one-dimensional, so I'm not feeling any of the domestic drama. And the dialogue just gets worse and worse. Who calls crows poultry? At the end of last week's show, I realized I was no longer intrigued and there's just not enough ominous eeriness to keep me coming back. I'm going to give it one more try this week, and if it's more lame soap opera, I'm out. Anyone agree?

Just got around to watching last week's episode, so I'm late to the party.

I'm still liking the show.  As others have mentioned, however, I'm still waiting for the "big grab".  Perhaps it will come in November sweeps.

While there's some genuine interesting happenings, some others are just ho-hum.  Unfortunately most of the last episode fall into the ho-hum category.  Though watching Joseph Fiennes is never a bad thing.

IF the future could be changed, wouldn't it just be smart for the cop with no flashback to just wear a bulletproof vest on the day he's supposed to get shot in the chest?  Heck, start wearing it now!

Anyway, I'm glad to hear it'll be around for a full season, so at least we won't be left in the lurch like so many shows that jumped on the 24/Lost bandwagon did over the last couple of years.

  • Doesn't he know the exact date he's supposed to shot, too? And why did his future bride see him at their wedding? And why isn't he telling the person he's closest to about his fear????? eom Elliott

I am still very intersted in it. Sorry it is not deliverying for you Edward.

I am very intersted in what part the girl being held by the FBI had in it and what was her flashfoward. Also, what is the deal with the daughter from Iraq-her dad saw her, but her body was confirmed in the cementary...is she involved in what cause the flashforward?

Is the fJanis gay? if so who is the father of her baby-could it be the Demitry?   and how can he be dead if she saw him in her flashfoward? argh! too many questions for me-so I'll keep it on my DVR :-)

I was waiting for the buzz. I'm still figuring out LOST (heh) and wasn't about to add this unless or until I heard it was worth it. I don't have a lot of time in Fall so I must rely on the kindness of others' reviews before I invest the time in catching up. It seems as confusing as LOST was initially so I guess I'll just stick with that.

I'm still trying to like it.  Haven't gotten there yet though.  I tape it and then have to find time to watch it which is always a hassle and a half.  Finally gave up on "Heros" for that very reason.  Well, also it was getting too weird for me! I don't mind weirdness if it has a point but if it just goes on and on forever...  I get bored with it!  I'm hoping ''FlashForward'' gets going but I'm not holding my breath!!!

  • I'm still trying to like it, too. It didn't help that I missed the first episode, but that's not the problem. I'm just not really loving anything about it yet. It's just okay. eom Elliott

I'm still liking it - in fact I just recommended it to my daughter - I think the premise is very new and interesting - now the people who had happy flash forwards and the people who had bad flash forwards are starting to butt heads as to what it all means, and I just think the whole 'fate' or not question is intriguing. Brothers & Sisters and Grey's are getting droopy - when you run out of story give someone cancer - now THAT's Soap Opera! LOL!

  • I wish I still had your enthusiasm over FF, but I don't, and I doubt this week's episode is going to change that. I was expecting more eerie sci-fi, and less melodrama among characters who, three episodes in, I just don't really like or care about. (Edward)

I had the first couple of episodes of Flashforward stored on my DVR; however, I needed the space and ended up deleting them.  I figured that if the show was successful it would be the  kind of show that would be good to rent when the season comes out on DVD.   I also did not want to ''get into'' a show and then find out it was cancelled.   I have done that one too many times and did not want to go down that road again.

  • Sounds like you made a good call because FlashForward is turning out to be not worth the time investment. (Edward)
  • The show has already been picked up for the full season. eom/lisa3
