Group Number - ''One Sweet Day'' -- This is another ho-hum number
RECAPS of last evening are shown
Who will be leaving? (36 million votes)
ELIMINATIONS BEGIN
Ryan has the contestants form 2 groups as he calls their names:
Jason C - left group
David C - right group
Carly S - left group -- Carly tells Simon that he's been too hard on her. They have a brief exchange. I hope Carly appreciates that she's being given yet another chance.
Kristy C - right group
FORD VIDEO is shown
Elliott Yamin sings ''Free'' - He then pays tribute to his recently deceased mother who had always been in the audience
Syesha M - left group
Brooke W - right group
IDOL takes phone calls -- I don't care for this filler
Mariah Carey sings ''Bye Bye'' from E=MC2 --
Would someone please tie down Mariah's arms which are a major distraction along with her fluttering fingers , also known as the ''Patti La Belle Butterfly Syndrome''. While many of Mariah's songs are fine, it's her vocal stylings and ''La Belle affectations'' that I abhor. ''Bye Bye'' is one monotonous song!
David A - safe -- David is treated differently, left standing alone backstage, and then declared safe without joining a group.
David C - safe
Carly S - safe
Jason C - safe
Syesha - safe
BOTTOM 2
Brooke W - safe -- I'm disappointed. This girl was dreadful last evening. She also needs to stop talking.
Kristy C is ELIMINATED -- I disagree. This girl has been growing and improving. I predict that she'll be signed
We hear Ruben's ''Celebrate Me Home'' as a video of Kristy plays.
Kristy reprises ''Forever''
NEXT WEEK: The Andrew Lloyd Webber Songbook
COMMENTS: We have some girls who need to zip their lips. I'm talking about YOU, Carly and YOU, Brooke. Their attitude is most inappropriate.
The game playing by Ryan during the eliminations is JUVENILE. Nigel must have extra time on his hands. Maybe he should focus more on SYTYCD. Must we play musical chairs with the contestants?? Seems a bit cruel to me!
Best wishes to Kristy Lee Cook. I hope that Randy signs her.

Message: I wanted to thank you Songbird and Linda for your great recaps. I kept to my word and didn't watch last night. The final straw for me was the elimination of Michael last week - not the elimination but the way it was done. I realized this week as I was fast-forwarding through the performances that I just can't take this show any longer. It annoys me, it doesn't entertain me any longer. Maybe I have Idol burn-out. And in watching AI Rewind - well, this was supposed to be the season with the BEST TALENT ever, and, no, it isn't. There were better seaons and much better performers. There isn't even much to snark at, not the little boy David A, seems mean to snark at this little kid with the stage-door daddy, or the desperation that is Carly, someone I truly like but who is turning into a nervous wreck with each passing week, Jason, Brooke and Syesha, all who bore me, and David Cook, who I like to listen to but who I find unattractive. Michael was the last of the eye candy. I wish them all well, I just don't care any longer. BUT I will tune in for your recaps! I know I said that was that last night as I was in the throes of my Idol discontent, but I realize after having started with the show, I would like to see how it all turns out! And all the reviews here are great to read as well.

Message: Mariah, Go Away! Take your bedazzled microphone with you!
The knollers so called the stand with the group that you think is safe with Archie! Ha! I was hoping that Brooke would have to choose and she would have a mental breakdown. I still hope one day when they do this tired stunt whoever has to choose will go sit with the judges.
Brooke needs to shut up. She tells Simon to apologize a few weeks ago then is ready to scold him tonight when he says he thinks the Colonel is leaving. He's a grown as* man and you are not his mother! I'm tired of her. So very tired.....
Jason makes me laugh and grin every time he talks. He's just ridiculous (in a good way).
The Q&A has to end. I cringe everytime it comes on the show. Ugh, Paula's creepy fan from her show. Blech.
Just when I think Carly cannot get any more desperate she tells Simon that he has been hard on her. Maybe he is still pissed about her not having her paperwork in order in season 5, and now she is not living to her pimptential.
Cook just grows and grows on me more every week. I don't see the arrogant thing at all. He just seems mature and grounded. He hasn't once taken the bait and talked about his personal drama. I'm just stunned with how much class he's handling himself despite being so overwhelmed.
Kristy is gone...finally. Thank the Heavens and, apparently, America. Now just get Syesha off of my screen, and I will be able to sleep at night.
For anyone that missed the show or parts of it, you can see the videos of the Group Number, the Ford commercial, Elliott's and Mariah's performances and all of the eliminations - Season 7 Top 7 Results - Recap - at http://mjsbigblog.com/season-7-top-7-results-recap.htm
The videos are quite good and clear. Just click on anything in purple.

Message: Good recap again, songbird. I can't believe we are back to another elimination night already. Probably because the talk of the last one lasted so much longer. It was also a day later.
I liked the Group Number until they all were doing Mariah Carey runs at the same time in different directions. Jason seemed to start off wrong but got into it. Carly went overboard again, but the rest were fine. ~~ The Ford commercial was strange this time. I liked the one last week a lot better. ~~ It was nice to see Elliott again. He sounded pretty good and I liked his little note and tribute to his mom. She will always be in his audiences.
One thing concerning the phone calls that I have noticed twice, once with Chikezie and tonight with Kristy, that one of the questions was for the person eliminated. I'm trying to remember if Ramiele had a question asked of her on the night she was eliminated. There weren't any questions last week because of the Idol Gives Back they were still doing on the elimination show. If Ramiele also had been asked, can we assume that of any contestants asked a question during this insipid phone call filler, one of them might be the one to be eliminated? Just an interesting observation.
I agree with you on Mariah's arms. In fact that was one of things I was planning on commenting on before I saw your topic. I was going to ask if she was trying to conduct the band while singing? It started to drive me nuts after awhile. The song wasn't too bad, but not one of her better ones. She sang it pretty decent too until she came towards the end and then ran with it all over the place styling here and there. That's when I figured it was enough.
Did you like the new twist in the "Idol Game". Ryan says, "Something's wrong. Too many Cooks spoil the broth." How clever as both David Cook and Kristy Lee Cook are in the same group. When Ryan moved David C. to the other group with Jason and Carly and took Syesha from their group and moved her over with Brooke and Kristy Lee, that Bottom 3 figured better. As soon as Ryan started the group thing I knew that when he got down to David A. he would do the old "You are safe. Go to the group you think you are in." bit for the fourth year in a row. I was happy to see that David A. did what Bo Bice & Melinda Doolittle, who were in that same spot did, and sit on the floor refusing to pick sides. When he wouldn't budge, I guess Ryan figured the best way was to bring the safe group over to him. Wow! What suspense! I did like that David C. got down on the floor with David A. Yes, this does seem a bit cruel to ask them to pick before millions of people. So, that's two cruel weeks in a row now. Is Nigel going to go for three next week?
I was surprised that it was Kristy Lee even though you figured that her luck in the Bottom 3 couldn't last forever, but I didn't think she would be there this time. I thought that Brooke would go once Syesha was safe. She was improving and taking chances a little more than the other two so maybe it wasn't right. I think that her song wasn't as familiar as some of the others from what I hear. I wish Kristy luck and hope that this guy heard the pleas for her horse and lets her buy it back.
I'm looking forward to Andrew Lloyd Webber week. There are some good songs in there for everyone. It's just that this is another theme that confuses me with what the judges are always saying. They (mostly Simon) don't want them to sound "Broadway" yet they are to sing songs in a theme that deals with musicals. I still hope it will be a better show.
I will post something on ALW week on another Idol News topic. Hint: The show will be at a different location for next week.

Message: Yeah, I think Kristy Lee did exceptionally well last night. My mom thought she sounded like Patsy Kline and the dress fit perfectly lol. I just really wanted it to be Syesha!! Ugh. The girl just doesn't go and personally I have no idea how she is still in the top 6 now, top 6?? How. So confused on that one.
I'm kind of glad Kristy was the one to leave. She's seemingly been on the brink of elimination for weeks and she's developed an attitude. Anyway, she wasn't one of the better singers left. I do think she can be successful if she continues to develop and stays within a certain limited style and range. I hope she does that.
I'd like to see Syesha leave next because I keep forgetting she's even still in the competition!
David Cook has become my favorite. The way he handled his Mariah Carey song was incredible and he blew me away.
