Star Jones TMZ has confirmed that former "View" host Star Jones has filed for divorce from hubby Al Reynolds. I'll be needing a lawyah!

Jones filed back on March 26, and the couple married back in 2004. We're told that Star is currently out of the country. Big Al -- as ever -- no clue where he is.

She released a statement to "ET" that reads: "Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman."

Not really a shocker. It lasted longer than I expected. I think Star was more in love with the idea of getting married than the actual marriage. I guess Big Gay Al can go be Big Gay Al.

I never heard of Al Reyonlds until Star Jones started datingn him. Who is/was this guy famous for? ..../Angela

I don't think that Al Reynolds had any celebrity status prior to Star Jones. I think he is some type of Investment banker or financial analyst or something like that. The Al is gay rumours started before the wedding took place. Star has spent her whole engagement and marriage defending their relationship. I am not a huge Star fan, but that must have taken a toll on both of them. Dot

I was so sick of hearing about her wedding when she was on the View...In my opinion..I think that was part of the reason by they did not want her to stay?..../Angela

What a shocker! Ha. Well, at least she's admitting that she made a mistake in sharing too much info with the public before. But it's funny she's suddenly expecting the media to respect her privacy; I'm guessing they most likely won't, and then she'll throw a fit.

Really mean photo of her, I have to say. Makes me think that, if you placed my worst photo ever on an article about me, I'd be really hurt/embarrassed. But then, of course, I'm not a public figure ...

I heard awhile ago that Al Reyonlds was leaving an attorney's office..the media did not really make a big deal about..maybe he was seeing his lawyer about his rights?.../Angela

There are all sorts of reasons to be seeing a lawyer, most having nothing to do w/divorce! There was an ironclad pre-nup agreement, supposedly, so it isn't about fighting over anything. He IS a businessman, w/lots of interests other than Star--which may have been part of the problem. I don't think that she does well w/divided attention. eom

Angela: I'm sure that most people do. My point was that the gossips try making hay out of things that could have nothing to do w/how they are spinning a story. They WANT to make a big deal over this divorce. So he was coming out of a lawyer's office...
