It should be interesting. Jay's Friday show wasn't as good as those earlier in the week but I liked the finale. Pretty sweet and totally unexpected.  Here it is......

Wow, really no love here for Will Ferrell!  Funny, he's one of the only SNL alums who's made a strong, steady move to big movies and CONTINUES to be very popular.  I love him, and thought he was a great choice.  He always does some funny story-telling (straight-faced lying, basically) during interviews and they crack me up.  Oh well, to each his/her own!

I never liked Leno, so I could care less that he is semi-gone. Seriously? He is going to be on 5 times a week in the 10 o'clock spot on NBC.....what a waste of a good time slot. I have always loved Conan so I am happy he was the replacement...too bad my late night viewing goes to TDS and TCR.

I miss Jay already. He was part of my 11:30 routine. For me, 10:00 is just too early to watch his show. I did watch Conan's premiere, and it had some good moments, but it's not what I'm used to. Jay's humor was sort of comforting, like an old pair of fuzzy slippers.

  • Since Jay Leno has quit I have been able to go to be much earlier.(This shows how much I like Conan O'Brian.)

I'm another who isn't a fan of WF's.  I turned it off shortly after he sat down.

I liked everything up to that point--except the background on the set behind Conan during the monolog.

I wish CO the best with his new show. I do like him & thought he was a great choice for a replacement but I was disappointed that Will Farrel was on his first show. I think there were many other celebrities that they could of had picked.

I thought the shows at the beginning of the week were much better, too.  I did like the part on Friday when he brought all the Tonight Show kids out and how many couples got together on the show.

Conan did such a spectatcular last show so perhaps I was a bit spoiled after having seen it.

However, I don't see Will Farrel as the best guest for his first show.  Conan's not going to win my dad over with guys like Farrel.

(I'm not a huge fan of Will, either.)

But I'll be tuning in if I haven't fallen asleep.

  • forgot to add that I'm really glad that Andy Rikter )sp) is back on the show. I really like him. Saw the show up til about the end-sort of zoned out during the WF stuff and turned off in the middle of Pearl Jam. For a first show, I wasn't impressed. vh
  • Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing Andy Richter again too! But, alas, all he really did was introduce at the beginning and then engage in some very short back-and-forth stuff with Conan; there weren't any skits with him, which I always enjoyed in the old days. I thought it was funny that, at the VERY end with the credits rolling, he hops on the couch next to Will Ferrell and interrupts the talk between him & Conan - ha! I guess he was as starved for attention as I was for him. -SpellingAddict
  • I saw a recent interview w/Andy & he said that he wasn't going to be the sidekick, the way he was on the old show. That he was only going to be the announcer, which I think is a BIG mistake. I can see why they veered away from that, since it was done before, but I DO think that Conan needs that sidekick aspect. Maybe they'll expand Andy's role on the show over time. eom
