Oh wow, Miss Harold ... I did learn recently that Amanda II is David Cassidy's daughter (he'll always be a teen for me!), but I'd forgotten he was Jack Cassidy's son - he was a similarly blond actor (well, who knows if hers is real of course) in the 60's and 70's, who I mostly remember from appearances on "The Love Boat" and "Hollywood Squares" though I know he did other things. (He died a HORRIBLE death when his Hollywood apartment burned up around him, I think after he'd drunk himself into a stupor and maybe didn't put out a cigarette, which still haunts me. What a terrible way to go!) Hey, he was married to Shirley Jones, who is David Cassidy's mother ... is she this young lady's grandmother?? I guess so! Very interesting.
On the news today is a story that The CW announced two of the M.P. characters will be leaving the show. (Since when do they announce that in advance?? Kinda takes the punch out of the characters' death, disappearance or murder, doesn't it?) Anyway it's Ashlee Simpson-Wentz - which will make somebody here happy, lisa3 I think it was who has commented a few times on what a lousy actress she is - and the guy who plays Auggie, the tall-ish, dark-haired guy who's a chef at Ashlee's restaurant (he got her the job) and who keeps being shown as the probable murderer of Sydney. I wonder if they'll close out the story of either of the two characters having killed her, maybe together, with the two of them getting killed running from the law? Anyway we'll see.
Hey, I also heard that yet another character from the old show will be joining this one. Wow, they're going to end up with a total reunion, aren't they?? Might as well call it "Melrose Place II"! Hmm, can't think of who it is right now but I'm thinking it was a secondary character, somebody or other's mom I think. Or am I confusing it with "90210," another revival of an Aaron Spelling show?? Very possible. Well I wouldn't mind if they brought back the entire casts of both shows, myself!

I was quite impressed with the blond actress who plays Ella. She definitely seems like another Heather Locklear. For those of you old enough to remember David Cassidy, she is his real-life daughter. Actually, she looks a lot like her grandfather, who was also an actor back in the sixties (I can't think of his name).

Oh yay, there are other bottom-feeding M.P. watchers besides me!! Hee hee. Such a guilty-pleasure show, isn't it? I've been recording it since something else I like (2 things, actually) are on at the same time, and I'm gradually getting thru them. I realized partway thru the last one that I'm actually HOOKED, just like with the original series!!
On one end of the spectrum, I'm really liking the photographer/filmmaker guy (who I'm thinking is patterned after Billy in the original show - sweet, well-meaning and not having that Hollywood edge most everyone else has, meaning VERY likeable); and at the other end, though I thought she was too much at first I'm really getting into the bad blonde girl (patterned after Ms. Locklear's character - good job!).
Now, to be constantly hearing about yet another old-show vet coming on board ... gee whiz, it sure looks like it's going to be practically the whole original cast, with a few young kids thrown in for good measure! First Sydney was there - then Jane came in - now we've got Jo - and we're soon to get Amanda. What more could we veterans want?! I'm very happy.
My one big complaint: No humor! What dry, humorless scripting, where we go from one dramatic element to another. Writers/producers: That's what made the original show so darn much fun & addicting. Michael used to be such an endearing goofball; now he's the big bad serious guy who people are actually afraid of. I miss the old Michael a lot (but am just glad he's still there, anyway).
I also wish they could put the show into a slot where there's nothing else good on; I could stop recording it and watch it live. But what am I saying - I really enjoy zapping thru them ads! (Almost makes up for the humorless writing.)
Hey, jpa: Have you tried watching it on hulu.com? I find they have the biggest inventory of shows plus streaming quality, myself.

Jo came to see the model girl Riley and apologized and said she's the new face of the jeans. Riley's fiance went to the bar to meet the TV exec girl.
think that was it.
boy Ashley Simpson character is borderline psychotic if you ask me... she looks like beg trouble - and gee, no one sees that?
