Additional Comments:

I had heard on the news in the last week that Andrew Koenig, 41-year-old son of actor Walter Koenig (Ensign Chekov on the original Enterprise) who played a character on "Growing Pains" plus appeared on the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" series himself, had gone missing after traveling to Vancouver, B.C. recently.  So sad to hear that his body has now been found, in a wooded part of Stanley Park in Vancouver.

What a sad note for Vancouver, too, with so many there enjoying the Olympics at this time.

So sad. He was such a great actor and seemed to be a really sweet man.

Hate to hear things were so bad for him he found this his only alternative.  I really hated it when they wrote Boner off "Growing Pains"

Aaaawwww.....Boner died. I leave you with a great Boner quote:

Mike: This doesn't say what Coach Lubbock's address is. It's a P.O. box.
Boner: "Wow, if I lived in a box I'd be P.O'd too!"

I wonder if it was suicide. He cleaned his apartment and gave up on everything in L.A. It's hard to speculate when you don't have the whole story.
That totally sucks. His family was looking hard for him.

  • His parents have confirmed it was suicide. Maddy
  • His parents also said that he had stopped taking his meds. eom
  • A lot of people stop taking meds because lithium, especially makes one not feel anything at all. A person I knew who stopped taking them said they'd rather feel lows and highs than nothing at all - like a zombie.
  • Tosca; Another reason people stop taking meds (not just lithium) is because they feel 'well' & don't see the need to take it anymore. That is common w/all meds, to some degree, but particularly w/meds treating mental illnesses. eom
