What I don't get, though, is if Ben (through Jacob??) can somehow unleash the smoke monster, then how come he didn't do it sooner when he knew the electric fence had been crossed? He knew the mercenaries were coming to get him and at that time he didn't even know that they had Alex captive. Wasn't it implied during the Mr. Eko time that the smoke monster had something to do with good vs. evil ?? So I don't think the smoke monster would have killed Alex ??
I'm really losing patience with Locke. He seemed willing to let Sawyer and Claire be killed to protect Ben? ugh. And he's so condescending to ''Hugo.''
I'm most curious about what happens to Sawyer and Claire. We know Baby Aaron makes it off the island - perhaps with the protective Hurley, who then gives the child to Kate. It looked like Claire was a goner - but Sawyer was willing to risk his life to save her. In her confusion Claire even even referred to him as Charlie. Does Claire have a new protector? I'm wondering if these two will somehow be left behind on the island as a couple. I can't see where they'd kill Sawyer off -- he's too much of a fan favorite -- but I also can't see them leaving him ''alone.'' I can easily see where Hurley eventually does catch up with them, but they're in trouble again and Claire wants Aaron to survive, so she gives him to Hurley to take back to the camp at the beach, while our lovable anti-hero Sawyer stays with her.
It was a great show! Things are moving fast! What's the connection between Charles Widmore and Ben? And don't you dare kill PENNY!
I think Ben thought they wouldn't kill her once he said she wasn't his daughter. I also think Jacob controls the monster somehow through Ben and that's why he needs to get to him.
