oooh, it's getting gooood!!   I liked that Bruce and Susan finally met Doug and realized he is a person of quality, not some guy just out "trolling for young girls" as Bruce first accused him.

Janet and Roger......  uh oh, Roger's longing for Susan, which appears to be mutual. looks to explode next week according to the previews.  I can't wait, I like the way they are together.  Susan's inadvertent slip when she was saying to Bruce something about "just cause we aren't in love anymore" .... very telling. I do find Bruce to be rather heavy-handed.

I alternate from finding Janet endearing at times to finding her exasperating.  Her insistence initially at the psychiatrist's office that everything was Roger's problem was so frustrating.  And I think maybe she is a little more attracted to Tom than she is admitting. Tom's reaction to her letting him down easy, so to speak,  was amusing, I think he has enjoyed flirting with her, kind of because it flusters her, and to try and loosen her up a little,  but I don't think he was really "after" her.  She seemed to believe he was really in hot pursuit.

Lana Parilla (Trina) is a total hottie, I gotta say.   Very sexy woman, appealing actress.

This show has really grown on me.  I hope it lasts longer than just as a summer thing.  I do think the title may actually be a little misleadingly tawdry, it's actually more thoughtful than the title gives the impression that it would be.  Still, it is a fun soap at heart.

I don't know ... I was gunna post something a couple weeks ago about how CBS moving it to the dreaded Friday night slot wasn't a good sign.  Have you heard the latest ratings?  I don't think it's been doing so hot, though it's sorta hanging in there.  I myself would love to be watching it - I lived through that period, and enjoyed the Sexual Revolution as much as anyone! - but dang it, they had it on opposite both Kathy Griffin and "Hopkins" on Thursdays.  I've tried to tape it every week, though I think I've missed twice now and I'm a little like "guess I'll wait to rent it."

I'm glad to hear it's getting better.  I watched the first episode and it seemed like a pretty good nighttime soap to me!  And I love that Trina actress too; she was also good on that other NBC show ... what was it now?  I think it got cancelled after a very short time, unfortunately.  It was about people who won the lottery.  Some good acting.

  • Dax) Windfall. Yeah, that was an okay little summer soap, too (like Swingtown).
  • Hi Dax, nice to see you! Wasn't Lana Parilla briefly on Lost as well? You always seem to be in the know on these things, do you have any skinny on Swingtown, whether it is strictly a summer show or if maybe it's in the running to be something more permanent? Hope you are doing well! eom/Cynthia
  • Dax) Yeah, she was one of the guardians of the Looking Glass (where Charlie died). She also did some time on 24... They haven't said anything yet, but I'm sure there won't be a second season of Swingtown... it's okay - #13 promises 'closure'.
