Topic: Is anyone watching Survivor?

Additional Comments: I usually catch it if I think of it, but this season I'm really getting into it. Mostly because I'd like to see Russell the oil tycoon voted out. And it got crazy last night!

Are you watching? Will Russell find the immunity idol again!? I sure hope not.

I would like Russell just for his game playing if not for the fact that his tactics helped to make his tribe weaker in the beginning, so now they are sowing the seeds he reaped.  Remember his dumping the water and his other antics?   You prop your tribe up, you don't weaken it on your behalf.  He is playing a better game now, but I still can't warm up to him.  I miss Liz, she was my favorite, so now my favorite is Jaison.   I will say I am enjoying the show more though, but I won't cry any tears if Russell is eliminated.  After all, as he said, he is a multimillionaire and doesn't need the money, LOL.

This is the first season of Survivor that I have watched regularly in quite a while.  I've got to admit that I have become a fan of Russell and I would like to see him win.  At first I thought he was going to be just another "Johnny Fairplay", but now that comparison seems like apples to oranges.  Unlike "Fairplay", Russell has charisma, intelligence, and an understanding of the game.  Everything he does and says is designed to fit into his Machievellian plans to win the game, which is how I've always thought the game should be played.  I can't stand the contestants who sign up for the show and just go hang out and think they should win because they "haven't lied to anybody" and have "maintained their integrity".  If that's the case, then they're not playing the game and certainly don't deserve to win it.

Like most of you I detested Russell at the beginning, especially the way he trashed the women.  Now that I've watched him, I must say I'm rooting for him, though I doubt he'll make it to the end.  He's a smart man and probably the best player ever.  Like he said, he's there to play and win the game, not go for a picnic and slide down a rock.

The only players I really don't like is the tall skinny guy, Dave I think, on the Galau tribe.  He's too bossy and a show off and thinks he's the greatest.  I also think that Monica is kind of dense and very useless.  I like Shambo and I hope she goes far.  She's kinda stupid, though.  Losing a chicken was not a good move but I don't like the way skinny guy puts her down and yells at her.

Go Russell!

  • My problem with Russell is that he is only playing this game to show how easy it is to win - and I don't think he should for that reason.

I am watching.  I don't like Russel. but Thursday was great.  I am not fan of Laura and don't care for a lot of the Galua.  I was happy with last night.  Although I don't like Russel I like that he has found it 2 times without clues.  wonder how long he really looks.

Like some of the other posters, I really dislike Russell and wanted him out NOW...but last week he got the ball rolling that got arrogant smart-alec Eric kicked out, which made me laugh, and then this week when he pulled off the surprise at Tribal council was just hysterical!  I'm hoping he finds the idol again!

Truthfully, the other people on his team are somewhat useless.  The girl, whatever her name is, gets points for her social game, poor Mitch(?) is a nice looking doctor, but hasn't really done anything the whole game, and Jaison...well..he can swim a little, but that's it.

The people on the other team are sort of tiresome.  The rocket scientist is a very good looking man, and probably their biggest asset...so why did Foa Foa waste their time voting out Erika(?)?  Just so Shambo could get back at Laura?  I guess if that's the only way to get Shambo's vote, but otherwise, it seemed like a bad idea.  Shambo just seems slimey.

Anyway, at least there's a reason to watch more than there was earlier in the season.  If Russell hadn't been so bent on making his teammates miserable by burning their socks and dumping canteens, maybe he would have had more people with him at the merge and he wouldn't be in the 'must-find-the-idol' frenzy he's in.

  • Yes, it's much more exciting to watch now! What a crazy turn of events! The previews for next week are hysterical, too - everyone's chasing Russell as he hunts for the idol again! L22 eom

I want Russell to WIN! He's playing the game hard and he's memorable. I can't even remember the names of half of the other people. I would love if Russell found the idol again. I was LMAO off when he played the one last night. The looks on some of the Foa Foa faces... hilarious!
I don't like Laura, but good for her, winning individual immunity twice in a row. I still would like her to be eliminated next, though.

  • I couldn't believe Laura won immunity again when they all wanted to vote her off! LMAO! L22 eom

Yeah, I'm watching and am starting to change my first impressions of Russell!  At first I thought he was an arrogant pig and I still think that BUT he sure is playing the game!!!  It takes some skill to be that sneaky!  And lucky too!!

I was shocked when that southern belle beaned that rat and then ATE it!!!  Of course, she shared it but ick!  I don't believe I could kill something like that unless it was threatening me no matter how hungry I was!!!!

Do you have a favorite yet??  I sure don't!! There are a couple of cute guys but so far they haven't shown much smarts!!!!  LOL

  • I really thought that rat must have been sick or something for it to let that woman come up and whack it with a stick! I don't care how much they cook it probably would make them all sick. /regina
  • I don't have a favorite, but I do have a LEAST favorite - it's because of the attitude Russell started out with, and how he sees everyone as pawns to manipulate, and he's going to prove how easy it is to win. I'm glad everyone wants to vote him out. This week's episode got so intense it drew my son into watching with me! L22 eom
  • I often wonder if it's an act on Russell's part. That he's really a very nice man but is just playing a part. Hmmmm, what would be the advantage except to keep viewers talking and watching!? eom fuzzwuzz
