Subject: However, most medical experts are saying the Kawasaki probably had nothing to do with the seizure and accident. Jett was treated for the Kawasaki syndrome years ago and any complications would have manifested in the heart, not the brain (to cause seizures) I am so sad for them. I can't imagine losing a child at ANY age!

Subject: What gets me are these medical 'experts' who are flatly saying that if you don't take meds then you'll have a seizure. That isn't always the case! I've been off meds for over 11 yrs now & haven't had any seizures or any problems! There are over 130 types of seizures & most people who have a seizure disorder have multiple types. Some respond to meds, while others don't. Most don't result in unconsciousness or convulsions either. What most people think of are the dramatic, grand mals, which is only ONE type. Since the cause can be anything, finding A cure isn't realistic. Every case is unique. Not everyone responds to anti-seizure meds the same either. Many people who take meds feel that they are living 'in a fog' most of the time. That wasn't my experience, but I've heard it from others. There are lots of people on multiple anti-seizure meds. Having a seizure disorder doesn't mean you have autism or some other syndrome (condition). eom
