Additional Comments:
His remarks to Karen in the hallway today should tell her that she's doing the right thing. He made some mumblings about her not understanding what Lily's going through and then, when she said in her own defense, that she's not heartless....he implies that she IS on this subject? That's what I gathered from the scene, anyway.
Just how the heck is Karen so heartless? She was very warm and wise in her conversation with Lily inside, but then again, she ALWAYS IS. It's not like Karen was dissing Lily on being pregnant or something. All she was saying was that she wasn't up for helping to raise the baby! But Neil, in his usual self-righteous demeanor, leaves Karen with the feeling that she is selfish and not up to the Winter's Standard of Self-Sacrificing and Super-Parenthood!
Karen has done practically nothing since hooking up with Neil EXCEPT jump through hoops to keep his family happy and be a good sport. But apparently, she'll never earn Neil Winters' seal of approval so I hope that she kicks his a** to the curb!

Message: hi everyone...long time lurker, first time poster. :-) i just had to jump in on this one, neil is an absolute self righteous idiot! they have really taken this character and turned him into a conceited, overbearing man. cane doesn't know it, but he actually lucked out by not having this man as a father-in-law. i hope karen runs for the hills! she is way too good for this nonsense. btw, i really enjoy this board, you guys are always fun and i love reading everyone's comments.

Message: If you ask me, Neil's just been around Victor too long. He's picking up all his BAD characteristics. I used to like Neil too.

Message: Oh, I know! I was SO MAD after that scene. I even rewound it to be sure I heard what Neil said correctly. What a total insensitive a$$. I officially hate him now. We never saw the end result of that conversation, but I sincerely hope that Karen told that jerk where to go and how to get there - and then walked out of his life for good.

Message: I like Karen a lot. She's a sensible woman and it made a lot of sense for her to leave. Neil was expecting too much from her. Also I didn't like how anything it seemed Cane wanted to do for Lily Neil pushed him aside because he'd take care of it and her. She's still his little baby. Neil wanted to stay and Neil should have respected that and understand that it was painful for Cane also. It's true, the baby wasn't inside him, but he was so excited to be a father with the woman he loves. Neil tells Cane now how he likes him but doesn't respect him enough. He's the one to take care of Lily and that's it. Of course, he wouldn't have minded Karen pitching in too if she had stayed with him in the apartment.

Message: Karen's learning what a self righteous hypocrite Neil is. He rhapsodizes over Dru but he treated her like dirt for quite a while flaunting his "friendship" with Carmen Mesta.
