Watching the scene where they accused the Newman employee, I couldn't help but think it's all a set-up. The way Nick and Michael kept looking at each other was like some kind of conspiracy. The fact that Nick even confronted Adam with his suspicion that Adam did it makes me even more sure it was a set-up.
I think the employee was in on it and she was sent to the other office just so she wouldn't be around where Adam is (and so it would look to Adam like Nick and Mikey believed she was guilty).
I'm convinced they know it was Adam and they are just biding their time til they can prove it.

Message: Adam just has too much time on his hands. I'm holding out for this character-he could be a goldmine for Y&R. Certainly better than Victor.

For a man with superior intelligence Adam has been doing the most gawd dang stupid things for the past year.
How very intelligent of Adam was it to let Jack totally outwit him with the dairy escapade.
Even more superior intelligence is showing when Adam injected his eye balls with botox. His eyes would be functioning normally if he didn't use that large portion of his intelligence.
How much more intelligent could he get when he gaslighted the only person in Genoa City who actually likes him and believes he's a wonderful friend.
How much longer before it comes out that it was a man and not the female employee of Newman Enterprises who was a "whistle blower?"
Why would a man of superior intelligence be befriending the woman who's baby he kidnapped. Does his Harvard educated brain not tell him that he's going to get caught for all his sins and evil deeds?
Wait...no...Adam can't get caught...he's has such superior intelligence that no one will ever discover what a low life snake he is.
Ooooh I hate Adam.
But kudos to Michael Muhney for being such a good actor...because if he wasn't good I wouldn't have this hatred for Adam. When Chris Engen was in the role I had absolutely no feelings about Adam...it was just...meh...couldn't care less about him.

Message: I can never tell if we are supposed to guess what Nick is thinking or if it is just a case of bad acting. Adam is so far superior to Nick and Michael in intelligence (and acting ability IMO), I would love to see him rehabilitated, take over control of NE and let Nick focus full time on which wife he wants to be with.

Message: If the employee *wasn't* in on it and it was for real, then Nick and Michael were rather stupid. I'm not certain, but I believe there are federal whistle-blower laws (there are certainly individual ones that vary state-to-state), so if an employee reports something illegal that he or she witnesses on the part of their employer, they cannot be fired, intimidated or penalized for having done so. If Nick is banishing this woman -- who he acknowledged is a first-rate employee -- for not other reason, than because he believes she called the SEC (and he doesn't even have definitive evidence that she did so), she could presumably sue him.
