Additional Comments: I'm not into the latest fashions, but I haven't seen plastic coats at any department stores. Is this a new fashion? I thought the coat looked very uncomfortable, especially with the plastic around that upturned collar.

I have a red patent (real leather) trench coat--it's really soft; and because it's lined, it is warm when there's a chill and cool when it's a little warm. Like any leather, I wouldn't wear it when it's above 70 degrees outside. I love mine & if I could find the one Gloria is wearing, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Gloria is always on top of fashion--these short patent coats with cropped sleeves are right in style. I assume Gloria's was leather, too--it's very lightweight.

Now I love patent leather like the next person, but that coat was blinding! She should be careful walking down the street, with those gold button sparkling and that bright red coat, a dog might mistake her for a hydrant when she stands still.

Message: I thought it was supposed to be leather. But just for the record, I have a pink rain coat that looks a lot like that thing she was wearing, and it is really, really soft.
