I enjoyed the change of expression on David's face before and after he lost to the cunning Skye.
He was chewing gum, jubilantly smiling, expansive, aggressive, smug, brimming with self-confidence.
"Like my old man used to say," he smirked, "shut up and deal."
Skye suckered him into making a HUGE bet. With a supremely tough look on his face, David put down his cards and announced, "Full house."
"Damn!" Skye uttered. "I wish I'd bet more. Four of a kind."
David looked ashen --- shaken and undermined and nervous, like he was about to be sick. What a gratifying sight.

Message: I loved that scene. I found myself really enjoying what I was watching instead of cringing at the story or the acting.

Message: I found the poker scenes tedious. I just barely care about Brad, I have little to no interest in David Chow (one of the most poorly defined and unnecessary characters ever) and certainly have nothing invested in newcomer Skye. I spent the whole time wondering who these other people were sitting around the table that we've never even seen or heard of before and why none of them batted an eye at the thought of raising the stakes to 50 grand. Does Brad have a bunch of millionaire friends we never met before?

a gratifying moment INDEED, Joe H!! while i do not agree with the way brad has sucked the man back into this gripping addiction, it was certainly a pleasure to see a character i despise finally take a smack to the face!
i also agree with the posters below...outstanding acting job by david (drawing a blank on the actor's name...Izarra maybe?). he looks like he may have some experience with gambling...and LOSING!! perhaps this can serve as the breakout performance that will give a little meat to the actor's role on the show. we could all enjoy an actor's skill the way many of us have enjoyed CLB, or even cane...at first.

JoeH I was wondering if anyone else noticed David's superb acting during that scene? I thought he was very good during just what you have described We now know VI can act after given the right scene.
