Topic: Getting married on a rooftop

Additional Comments: Is Wisconsin having a very warm November? Even if the days are warm, I'm sure the evenings are pretty chilly, yet here is the place where Daniel and Amber chose to have their wedding. She in a sleeveless dress would have blue goosebumps. A long-sleeved suit would have made more sense.

I've complained before about the lack of understanding of weather in this part of the country by the writers. Even though Wisconsin and Michigan are having a pretty nice November (esp. compared to the yukky summer and fall we had), it's waaaaay too cold to stand on a rooftop with no heavy jacket on.  My car is parked right outside the door of where I work and if I ever  go back to the car without my jacket to retrieve something I forgot to bring in, I run out and run back inside as fast as possible because 30F to 40F and windy is not comfortable weather to stand around in for very long without a jacket. A rooftop would be even windier and colder.  The Y&R cast dresses like they live in California.

At 7:06 p.m. EST, according to the Weather Channel site, it is 56 degrees and cloudy in the real life Genoa City, Wis.   Warm enough for a wedding, especially if the wind isn't blowing or it's in a sheltered location.

Other than the fact that it was November in Wisconsin, and Amber and Daniel were the ones tying the knot, I liked the rooftop wedding.  I like church weddings too, but I always enjoy Y&R's choices of different venues for ceremonies.  Like the Chancellor estate for Chloe and Billy, a refurbished barn for Victor and Sabrina, the ashram for Kevin and Jana, etc.  Good to have variety.

  • I liked Neil and Dru's Japanese wedding.
  • Me too, one of the most beautiful Y&R weddings ever. Also loved Danny and Cricket's wedding in Hawaii. - Peridot
  • I thought they seemed so in love they didn't care where they were. Chuckles

The writers seem to forget that the characters live in Wisconsin.

I thought it was very romantic.  I didn't notice the details.  I thought Mrs. C was hilarious!  And I always love Murph!   Kevin was rather cat that caught the canary in the background too!

If S. Wisconsin has the same weather as the U.P. of Mich., it's been real warm by our standards....50 to 60 degrees during the day and right now it's a balmy 49 degrees at 10 o'clock.  That is really warm by our standards...short sleeves...probably no, but I just came in wearing a sweatshirt and I was perfectly comfortable.  Most years we've had snow already. Considering the crappy Oct we had this year....we deserve this weather.  So, believe it or not, S. Wisc. is probably warmer than us.

What makes me laugh is during Dec. - March, the residents of GC go outside CARRYING their coats....Ha Ha...the writers have no concept of midwestern winter weather.  Also, all the ladies are wearing shortsleeve, backless, frontless numbers...NO WAY would a respecting Midwestern lady be alive wearing that gear from Dec. - March.

Well, I'm in PA, which is quite a bit warmer than Wisconsin, and I would be freezing my butt off if I were outside right now.

Jana did the appropriate crossed arms and rubbing her arms bit. I noticed there was one of those big patio heaters. I don't think it was there when they were first up there.... so who the heck dragged that heavy thing up there?

Yeah, makes no sense... but the GC wardrobe in winter has never really ever been appropriate. I quite liked Amber's dress though!
