I've gotten to the point where I kind of dread seeing her. I'm not quite at FFing all her scenes, like I do with Gloria and usually Amber, but I'm getting there. Back in her first incarnation with Danny she was wonderful, and she was quite good when she first came back, with Jack. Her affair with Nick was another high point, acting-wise. In these storylines, she was vulnerable, insecure, and raw in her need for love; at the same time she was of course edgy, driven, and funny in a twisted way.
Ever since Phyllis married Nick, she's been so one-dimensional. Either a giggling, idiotic schoolgirl or a sheer bully (like in the blackmail story). Her acting has become extremely mannered and predictable. Stafford seems to just take her performances out of the canned Phyllis routine, rather than create something real-seeming.

I have been sick of her for quite some time now but she has REALLY had an attitude since she got back from New York. I agree with the other poster and said it myself for a long time -- Michelle Stafford seems like she is reallly bored with Phyllis.

"Sick of her" may be too strong a description, but I am getting tired of her, basically because the character has become boring. However, I'm cautiously optimistic that the feud she's just now starting with Sharon will bring out some of her more interesting qualities.

I find Phyllis's attitude curious..... she was the one who urged Sharon to tell Jack that she wanted to be part of RS, but now Phyllis gets very judgemental and irritated if Sharon even offers an opinion. There sure doesn't seem to be a proper definition of responsibility as to 'who does what'. Maybe I've missed something? but it seem like Phyllis just refuses to consider Sharon's POV at every turn. eom

Most times I can't stand Phyllis, but she is good for comic relief now and then. I really liked the scene where Nick "died" and Phyllis was with Nikki and Victoria planning the memorial service. Phyllis wanted to put a picture of Nick dressed as a woman beside his casket. ROFL!
I liked her response when Amber told Phyllis that she liked Daniel for the long haul.
Other than that, I don't see much use for Phyllis.

I'll tag on here too. She's a big yawn nowadays. I would like some of the old Phyllis back. Not the criminal Phyllis, the Phyllis with a bit of an edge.

I sometimes get the idea that Michelle Stafford is a little bored playing Phyllis. Especially now that Phyllis is a happy wife and mother and no longer running around town in goofy disguises, putting sea creatures in people's beds, or indulging in corporate blackmail. These days the most outrageous thing Phyllis does is eat gigantic sandwiches on the couch.
