I love when they bring back old characters (except Sheila), but I've always felt really uncomfortable watching Bierdz because HE seems so uncomfortable. His inflection is off and he's all mumbly. He comes across as stilted and robotic, especially compared to Tricia Cast, who I think is one of the more natural actresses on the show.

Phillip is my least favorite character, and yes the actor is very wanting. I can't stand that silly wisp of a beard he sports on his chin. It's like he can't decide whether to actually grow a beard but can't bring himself to shave off the shameful patch. Just my lowly opinion.

If you read his interviews, Bierdz has been very forthcoming about the past cosmetic surgery he had. And no, he didn't need cosmetic surgery; his case is just another example of how even good-looking people struggle with self-image problems and have ''work'' done. And sometimes when people resort to unnecessary procedures - especially when they're young - they ''don't grow old'' into the procedures, and the work they had done begins to look ''not so natural.'' (Michael Jackson would be the poster child for this phenomenon.) Bierdz is still good-looking, but I think it's rather obvious that he had something done to his jaw and cheeks, just like he's said.

I think he sounds "mechanical" when he speaks. Almost "robot" like. I also don't like the chin hair he sports. Never get the vibe he is "gay" so don't know why they are saying he is unless they want to keep him single! Flat out the worst actor ever except for "Ridge" on The Bold and The Beautiful.

OMG Ron Moss is just God Awful...he IS worse than TB///SusieB

At least we've seen improvement from TB during his short six-month stint - especially since he hasn't really been acting since he left in 1989. Ronn Moss has had over 20 years to learn something, anything. But he's almost as bad as when he started.

Thom most definately had something done to his jaw line. It's square now, whereas it was narrow and more pointed before. His original jaw looked better, but I imagine that he thought a strong square jaw would make him look stronger or more masculine. It didn't work.

He's obviously had work done, but then again, I'm sure many people on that show over 40 have had cosmetic procedures as well.

Not to sound mean or shallow, but it's not Phillip's appearance that bugs me, it's HIS VOICE. I don't remember the lisp (or whatever you want to call it) when he was on in the 80s.

Sometimes it sounds as if he's been eating peanut butter without a glass of water or milk nearby.

He's always sounded like he has a stuffed up nose/sinuses or deviated septum - perhaps he should have paid to have that fixed instead of a perfectly normal chin...msg

KB-I don't remember him having a lisp back then either. Or being such a horrible actor. winecountrygirl

I agree. Don't know exactly what it is that bothers me but he just looks sort of weird, glad it wasn't just me.
