Topic: Hey Kate (Ms. Indiana) are you getting excited about Tuesday?

Additional Comments: .....and have you ever seen anything like what's going on in the Democratic Party?
As you may know, I'm for Hillary, but would have been happy voting for Obama. But now, I can't see me voting for him, because, quite frankly, with everything that's been going on with Rev. Wright, I'm not sure I can. We really don't know anything about him, and how much he really (wink, wink) agrees with his pastor.

First of all, he insulted our intelligence by saying he sat for 20 years in that church, but didn't know Wright held those views. Are you kidding me???

Then, when it was politically prudent for him, (and for no other reason)he threw Wright under the bus. And gets glorious accodades from the media, etc. for doing it (a little late). I just don't get it.

My concern about all this is this: If Obama has all this DISSENSION with Wright, his spiritual advisor for 20 years, father-figure, close friend, etc......if he can't deal with him any better than he has shown......how is he going to deal with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong II, and all the other idiots in the world he will have to confront?

I thought the Dems would start deserting Obama after this, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I am furious because one of our state reps, Ben Chandler, endorsed Obama yesterday, even though Kentucky is going better than 2 to 1 for Hillary!

By the way, did you see Hillary on Bill O'Reilly? No one can say she isn't tough! She did very well, and will be on again tonight. O'Reilly is tough, but I think she's tougher. Obama doesn't have the guts to face Bill O'Reilly.

Kate: It's taken me awhile to get back to the board. Not enough hours in the day, seems like! First of all, I'm from Richmond (little south of Lexington) and am originally from Hazard (ever heard of it?).

I'm really proud of our girl on Bill O'Reilly. Everyone is talking about what a great job, even the Repug Advisors! She sure showed how tough she can be.

Apparently some polls are showing that about 28% of Af-Ams believe everything Jeremiah Wright says. How is this country EVER going to heal and get past racism when it's constantly being stirred up by the likes of Jeremiah Wright? And about 50% of dems and independents believe the only reason BO denounced JM at this time was strickly for political convenience. 'We' don't believe BO is as disconnected from his pastor Wright as he wants us to believe.

This whole mess has me really upset. I truly believe Obama lied about his connection with him, and it really scares me that the POTUS might have some of his anti-white, anti-American views. Hillary says she will support him if he gets the nom, so I guess I will, too, as bad as I hate to.

And I really hate to see Michelle as First Lady, because I trust her views even less than I do Barack's. Even if BO says he 'was not in the pew' when Wright made those comments, I believe Michelle was. By her making the comments she has about America being a 'mean' country, and her not being proud of being an American until now, leads me to believe she was right there hanging on to every hate-filled word Wright spouted. Where was Barack? My guess is he was right there with her.

Oh, and my Republican brother (hurts me to say that!) also wants Obama to win because McCain will beat him, for sure. I believe that, also, because all this Jeremiah Wright controversy will come up again in the General ---- big time!! We have not heard the last of Jeremiah Wright. He has way too much ego to let that happen. I just hope the Superdelegates know what they are doing.

  • Michelle Obama is not perfect. But neither is Bill Clinton. At least Michelle has never been convicted of perjury.
  • No, Bill Clinton is not perfect, and I usually don't try to defend him, because he's done some pretty stupid things. But I have NEVER heard him say anything that makes him sound as mean spirited and un-American as Michelle. It would make me sick to have her as our first lady........Kentucky
  • I don't know about you, but lying about the reasons to invade and start a war with a country that had never attacked us and did not have the capability to do so is pretty mean spirited, if not downright unamerican, although in their defense, most of the people who orchestrated it all wore a flag pin while doing so. I am Canadian so cannot vote but I have been following this very carefully. I guess I would be somewhat concerned about Rev. Wright. But I would be a lot MORE concerned about the fact that Hillary says she is against NAFTA but her husband earns $800,000.00 promoting it in Columbia. That doesn't seem right somehow.

  • I have no idea where those figures came from. There are so many inaccurate stuff making the rounds of the internets. I do know that Ben (mr. kate) and I disagree with major things and I think HIllary is an independent woman....and strong willed, or she wouldn't have come this far. I'm choose to think that she'll be the president and Bill will be an advisor and Mr. Frst Man who stands by his woman.........................;>)...............Kate
  • I don't know where you got your information, but NAFTA is not one of my priorities right now. I think we have bigger, more immediate problems right now, like trying to elect the right (wo)man for president. (The 'new') President Clinton can deal with this, and all our other pressing issues after she's elected.......Kentucky
  • I got my information from CNN.. I think it came from his tax returns. It could be wrong but I haven't heard Hillary dispute it though.
  • Kind of reminds me of that old political joke....................A candidate told his campaign manager he wanted to accuse his opponent of beating his wife. The campaign manager said 'But I have never heard that he beats his wife.' The candidate replied, 'Me either, but I just want to make him deny it'.......................Kentucky
  • I really do not think it is wise just to vote someone in for President simply because they have a vagina. NAFTA is a very important issue for me, and since the majority of the *experience* Hilary has for this job is because she was married to the man who signed it into law, it is something that concerns me. She cannot pick and choose the experience she gained from that job. SlapBrooke

Because of time constraints, I will only say this:  IMO you are completely off base with your assessment of Obama.

  • I couldn't agree more. Obama the man is not defined by his nutty ex-pastor. The conservatives are filled with glee (and possibly Hillary as well) but GMAFB. They're actually two separate people, but you'd never know it by the MSM and how they've permeated rational thought for some. eom Kelly Oh!!
  • I honestly hope I'm wrong, because if he DOES become our pres, and has those views, what are we in for? It honestly scares me, but this whole 'I wasn't in the pew', 'he's like my uncle', etc., just doesn't pass the 'smell' test to me........Kentucky
  • Well, then, take another sniff and read up on Obama. And do a little research on Hillary's prayer group and see how you feel about that as well. Wright has made some insane statements, but that doesn't mean that Obama parrots or believes one whit of what these outrageous accusations. Do you believe Hillary (or McCain) believes everything their pastor or whomever believes? Please. If you want to bash Obama, bash him on policy, not someone he obviously has no control over. I attended churches in the past (I was raised Catholic) and finally realized how much I was taught went against what I really believed. But I did go to mass, so therefore I must believe that women are unfit to be priests, I have no domain over my body, and when I die I will fly up to heaven? Uh, no. But if someone knew how I was raised they could come to that conclusion and keep beating me over the head with it. Ridiculous. eom Kelly Oh!!
  • And what really scares me is that the MSM keeping this Wright nonsense in the forefront actually has rational people believing that Obama harbors these same prejudices and conspiracy theories and will somehow unleash them if elected president. That's appalling to me, but then again, people believe what they want to believe. Frankly, I find that Iraq bankrupting this country and the economic and political fallout is the #1 issue we are facing right now, but hey, that's just me. eom Kelly Oh!!
  • You know what kind of quotes from religious leaders make me cringe? The ones from McCain endorser Rev. John Hagee, who said that The United States must join Israel in a pre-emptive military strike against Iran to fulfill God's plan for both Israel and the West, a biblically prophesied end time confrontation with Iran, which will lead to the Rapture, Tribulation and Second Coming of Christ. It is even more disturbing that Hagee said that he had an extended breakfast with McCain, the topic was Israel and his candidacy for the Presidency, and that McCain's comments concerning Israel are right on target. I would like to know when any of the liberal media will be reporting this endlessly. SlapBrooke
  • And Kelly Oh, as a Catholic myself, I just have to say how much I must approve of priests diddling little boys, because I went to Mass every Sunday. However, as a member of the Great Whore religion (according to Hagee), what else could I do? SlapBrooke

Can hardly wait for Tuesday!  I will be watching O'Really tonight.  I did last night.  I was pleased with Hillary's replies.  She comported herself perfectlly.

I had lunch today with an old Republican friend.  Her husband was Mayor of our town for 25 years and was big in the State Republican party.  She said the the Republican party are pulling for Obama to win because he would be easier to beat in the General Election in November.  So, with Hillary being the preceived stronger candidate I am troubled by these Democrats like this Andrews guy (Super delegate from Indiana) switching his endorsement to Obama.

I agree with you on the Reverend Wright situation.   How could it be possible to have a guy be so  involved with your life so closely and not know his inner feelings on all the things that we saw him preach about and the answers that he gave the moderator this past week?  And Obama has another Spritual Advisor the Reverend James Meeks who is very controversial .  http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=59735

I don't believe that he has been quite honest with us American people.  He speaks well, he looks good, he has a nice family, but I don't think he has the experience to be POTUS.    In 8 years he could have the seasoning and could be a great president.  Until then.....???

Ms. Kentucky, I applaud your courage for posting this.  Barack Obama has said he would unite the USA.  If that's true it hasn't begun in our area.   This election has divided friends.  I have been curious as to why there has been no posts here.

I posted a picture of Bill and Hillary taken of them in the '60's.  He looked like a norseman with red hair and she looked goofy as heck with her little granny glasses.  (perhaps you remember)  We all posted remarks poking fun at the two of them.  Good time!  A couple of days later, I posted a picture of Barack and Michelle in younger days, and the post was never touched..............by anyone!  How strange.   Why would that be?  I think we all know that we all are being so very careful becuse we are afraid of being called the R word.

Sorry for the long post but these were some things that have been running through my mind.

BTW, where are you?  Lexington?  Glasgow?  Paris?  Carlisle?  Louisville?   I have relatives down there.  Ben's family was from the Myrs Station area.

  • If this is the case, why has Rush Limbaugh been telling all of his listeners to cross over and vote for Hillary in the primaries? Why would he want a person he despises to the core to go against the Republican candidate knowing full well ONLY SHE can beat him??? SlapBrooke
  • I imagine many things go through Rush's mind. :>( Rush Limbaugh is not the voice of the Republican party. I was stating what was being said in Indiana by non-radical moderate Republicans in theirreal party. .......... I think we all know that Rush is a big loud mouth pontificating blow hard that has lost a lot of his ditto heads and without drama he's washed up.......... ..........Kate
  • There have been a great number of moderate Republicans who have decided to go for Obama, as well, not to mention tons of Independents who are behind him but cannot vote in the primary. Also, lets not forget about the more than 20% of people in PA who were behind Hillary 6 weeks before the primary who went for Obama, making her lead shrink from over 30% to 9%. SlapBrooke
  • SB, I can't believe you would even want to mention the numbers from PA, since Obama's big double-diget lead in NC has now dwindled down to about 6 or 7!........Kentucky
  • We can still wait and see what the actual totals are. Who knows, they might be higher due to the 70% of voters who say that politicians who support the gas tax holiday, like Clinton, are simply pandering. SlapBrooke
