We had a racoon in our last place. One raccoon can sound like a herd of elephants! Anyway, he didn't bother anything and I love animals so we let him be. On the other hand my daughter in Toronto always had problems with them. They are a HUGE problem in Toronto. There's a gazillion of them in that city. They suggest that you block any and all possible entrances for them. Exterminators will trap them but they just let them go down the street. You need to really check out the attic (and the basement and every other place) and block every possible entranceway. That is your best solution. Good Luck

I will caution you to get multiple bids if possible and TELL them you are doing so. I have noticed in our neighborhood they try to take people for a ride because people can be a little panicked and want them OUT now.

I would call Animal Control/Humane Society and see if they can recommend a wildlife control. They usually trap or wait till they leave then close all entrance openings.

An aquaintance of mine was always complaining about cats, got some live traps from the Humane Society. I never heard her say she caught anything but a mother Raccoon. The guy gave her hell and she never used them again.

Its always best to let someone who has wildlife knowledge, deal with ''nuisance'' animals

Killing animals is wrong no matter what. There are always ways of removing them toute de suite.

I agree with you Animal Lover... killing them is an ''INSANE'' idea! Especially when they can be dealt with HUMANELY! Mondyb PLEASE DON'T BE DRIVEN BY FEAR to do as the two bottom posters suggested. That's a really BAD idea! We have to learn how to live with critters by learning about them...or stop incroaching upon their habitats.

Better be careful Mondy...they just caught two rabid racoons in our neighborhood. They carry all sorts of diseases not to mention fleas, ticks and other creepy crawlies. Call an exterminator and get them out. I guess they'll help you figure out how they are getting in there!
