Palin's Wolf-Killing Program Results in 14 Wolf Pup Deaths
In June, after gunning down 14 adult wolves from a helicopter, officials from Governor Palin’s Department of Fish and Game rounded up 14 orphaned wolf pups and methodically shot each one in the head in clear violation of a state law.
State law prohibits the targeting of pups -- a practice known as denning. Maybe that’s why Palin’s officials tried to cover it up, making no mention of the brutal pup executions in the state’s June 30th press release on the killings. To date, none of the officials involved in the incident has been held accountable.
Video doesn't show actual shootings - but you'll get the idea

I do know deer, wolves, bear and even cariboo in some areas are culled because of vast populations. We have a certain bird in our area that is culled now and then. They are dirty, their 'poop' pollutes the lake and is killing the fish, and the island they tend to flock to is now dead of all vegetation. Their poop is that toxic. We have a deer cull every other year because the deer are over running farmer fields, getting caught up in fences, machinery etc. The bears are beginning to come into town from the mountains, again because population growth is making them seek food elsewhere. It does have to be done from time to time, like it or not if we humans wish to live on their land.

It appears to me that the deriding of Sarah Palin has become something of a national sport...make that an international sport. Yesterday, on breakfast television here there was a segment about her. Kathy Lette, who is allegedly a satirist living in London most of the time (and was famous for co-writing a successful book 30 years ago but has just published unfunny crap ever since) was letting fly with what seems to be the standard anti-Palin line of attack:
Seems to me like anything goes if it is deriding Palin - and the more outraged one can become - even over private matters - the better. When did this become an acceptable form of political debate?
MarieH, I don't like what I just read about the killing of wolves and pups. It is sickening. But really...aren't you just looking for things to be outraged about when it comes to Palin? Did she actually pull the trigger? Was it her hand that signed the paper? I would be surprised if it was, unless you are telling us that Alaska is such a small state that the Governor is responsible personally approving every action undertaken by each and every government worker. If she is responsible to this level of administration, then Alaska must be the most inefficient administration in the history of the world and you can add "Micro Manager" to her list of personal failings.

Message: I won't watch it either, I am so repulsed by everything about her. The more I hear, the more I can't stand her, and I find it SO bloody ironic that she's pro-life but when it comes to animals, it's kill, kill, kill. McCain had better watch it if he does get in, I wouldn't put anything past her in her quest to have all the power.

I hate violence against animals, so I can't bring myself to watch the video. I saw the headline and that's enough for me.
I already knew about Palin's lack of respect for animals. And as an animal rights activist, I cannot even begin to support her because of that (like I needed another reason). NO way, no how.
