Topic: Where have you been?

Additional Comments:

I entered some contests to win trips and now I am constantly bombarded with tourist information in my mail box. Our box is at the post office and its too small to hold it all! I think I've got something every state in the U.S. of A. I was thinking about all the states I've ever been to and which ones I'd still like to visit.  How many states have you been to. How many Canadian provinces? Where would you like to go that you haven't been to?

Me, I've been to about 15 states and 5 provinces. I'd like to visit the New England states and ever since that movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil I've been wanting to see Savanah.  Of course I'd also love to go to the Maritimes. Basically I would like to visit everywhere, lol.

Gosh, lets see.

Domestic Travel: NE (except Vermont), New York, most of the Mid-West from top to bottom, Nevada, Florida.

International Travel: Bahamas, Japan, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada (Windsor only), British and US Virgin Islands, Czech Republic, Cyprus, England, Germany, France, Greece, Holland.

I think I've included it all.  Next year, Peru (most likely) and south of France.  I am dying to visit California, Jordan and Jerousalem but I am a bit worried about the latter.

In Canada:  All of the provinces.  After my graduation, my friends and I took a month long road trip across Canada.  It was just spectacular.  I haven't gone to the territories yet.

In the US, I've visited 13 states: Hawaii, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Vermont, California, Florida, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Illinois.

    Cruised through the Caribbean islands.

I've also been to parts of Europe and Thailand.

I love to travel and I would like to eventually visit all continents.

I've lived, visited, or driven through every state except Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii.  I've visited Canada several times, my favorite so far being Old Quebec City.

Other countries I've visited are Austria, Switzerland, Germany, and Czechoslovakia.  I'd love to see more of Germany and visit England, Ireland, and Scotland.  I'd jump on the opportunity to go just about anywhere, really.  I love to travel.

(20)

States that I have either driven through, trained through or had a plane land but saw for less than a day: Massachusetts, Maine, Delaware, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and New Jersey. (7)

Other countries/places I've been: Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City); the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Island on a cruise; Portugal, Spain, Greece, England, Ireland and France. And Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, on a tourist tram for about 90 minutes! I was with my parents, and they refused to get off, so I've never actually put my foot on Mexican soil!

  • LOL. I used to do a lot of traveling. I've cut back a lot in the past four or five years. I haven't been on jet plane since 2006, and I have no plans to do so any time in the foreseeable future. It's a different world now. I'm glad I did a lot of traveling when it was affordable and not such a hassle. farmer

OK, let's see - I live in New England, so I have been to all of the NE states (it is nice here - just avoid it in the winter!). I've also been to FL, VA a few times, Houston TX, Dallas TX (just the airport), Midland, TX (Bush country, ugh), NY, St. Louis, Washington DC, Atlanta & Cincinnati, Maryland....and I may be missing one or two. TX is the farthest west I have ever gone. As far as Canada, I've been to Toronto and Niagara Falls. It's a very beautiful and very clean country! I've also been to San Juan, PR (airport), and St. Kitts and Nevis (eastern caribbean).

I woudl LOVE to go further out west - CA is top on my list (both LA and San Francisco), Arizona, New Mexico, Minnesota (I know that's further north, but it's supposed to be beautiful there). Wouldn't mind exploring more of the caribbean - Aruba, Virgin Islands, Curacao....I'd also love to go to Europe (England, Italy, Austria, especially).

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Minnesota is very beautiful around the lakes. We went to Brainard once for the drag racing and I was amazed at how lovely it was. You don't hear about that much - Pronoun
  • I forgot - I also have been to IN!! Yes, that's what I heard about MN, so one of these days, hopefully I'll go. I'd also love to go to Chicago.........DebS
  • DebS, you will love Chicago - my hometown. Lots of restaurants, museums, off-Broadway shows, shopping, etc. And there's no shortage of jazz and blues clubs, either. Then there is the lakefront. Another great thing about Chicago is there's plenty of public transportation. Spring and fall probably are the best times to travel to Chitown, as it can get quite cold here in the winter.-Peaches

Well let's see - I've visited all ten provinces of Canada but haven't made it as far north as the territories. My last trip was to Alberta and British Columbia in late May/early June.

As for which states ... hmmm ... my next trip is to Nevada (Las Vegas) but I've been there before. Aside from Nevada I've been to: California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, New York, North & South Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Massachussetts, Virginia, West Virginia, Illinois, Wisconsin and Maryland. (Don't think I've forgotten any ...) The ones I know the best are Florida (parents live there), Illinois (sis lives there) and Texas (oldest friend from high school lives there). So that makes ... um ... seventeen states? I've probably missed a few ...

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Good for you for seeing all ten provinces! I don't think there's many people who have unfortunately. - Pronoun
  • There was only one left I hadn't seen (Newfoundland) and I saw it last spring ... now I have to work on seeing more states! ................. Ashley
  • Oops! I knew I'd forget one - New Jersey! To come up with the other countries I've visited would take a while ........... Ashley

  • I was just in the Black Hills last weekend. I got some fantastic shots of Mt. Rushmore. Made it out to Devil's tower which is something I have wanted to see for a long time. On the way back I went through the Badlands. They are just such a bizarre formation out there. 1600 miles in 3 days on the Harley. Talk about being in Hog Heaven! ! !. . . . . UncleJJJ
  • You must have gone to Sturgis! We were there once at the same time as all the bikers. - Pronoun
  • UncleJJJ that sounds like a terrific ride. Do you have photos to share??? rushlan
  • I do have some photos that I will have to upload somewhere so I can post them here. I rode through Sturgis, but the rally is the 1st week of August so I missed all that. I need to see it some time but it gets so incredibly congested during that week. It's more fun to ride when there aren't quite so many people around. . . . UncleJJJ
