I saw a 'trailer/spoiler' for Katie Curic's CBS Evening show. It will be about DNA and the possibility that DNA test could predict early onset alzheimer's.
If that could be possible without any chance of fault, would you want to take the test? I guess my question is:
Would you want to know? ( I wouldn't)

Message: I would want to know. I hate not knowing things. Knowing in advance gives me time to put my affairs in order, choose my specific care and lodgings, and research what, if anything else could be done with the advances in medicine.

Hey, it's not just Alzheimer's. There's a raft of diseases with a genetic component that are now detectable. More all the time.
I think the choice is, do you want to meet the challenge head-on or do you want to stick your head in the sand?
My personal thing, if these tests were available 15 years ago, I may have been diganosed earlier and my rheumatic symptoms could have been delayed if not remedied.

Message: I read about the test a couple of weeks back. I believe I even posted it and there was some discussion. Meantime I asked my hubby if he would take such a test. There is a lot of Alzheimer's in his family. Privately I worry a lot that he will get it as he has already had a heart attack. (There is a connection) He said most definitely he would take the test. That way he could plan for me, choose a care home himself and get prepared for what is to come. I haven't decided yet if I myself would take the test or not.
