I know that snow isn't a big deal to many of you, but we hardly ever get it in this area. They are calling for about 14", but I don't think we are going to get that much. It's still pretty. I guess it's good that it happened on a Saturday because they didn't have to worry about closing schools and work places, but I would have preferred to get a 'free' day off of work!
My puppy, Vegas (a white chow) didn't know what to do when I first let him out. So I through a treat out in the snow and of course he went after it. Then I couldn't get him back in. He was so frisky and cute! (BTW, he really isn't a puppy anymore as he is 3 years old, but he still looks like one and acts like one!)

I saw that on the news and I thought, better them than us - we always get hit with the Nor'easters and I am NO WHERE near the New Jersey beaches.
Philadelphia suburbs (where I am) is getting hit with a coastal stomr this coming weekend, just what we need, another repeat of the weekend before Christmas when we got 21 inches.
Did you take a pic of your dog? Would love to see it. Did you try to drive in the snow? It's treacherous if you don't know to keep going when you're going up a hill...don't stop or you'll slide backwards (like you really need to hear this...lol....I am laughing, sorry don't mean to be a pest, it's the teacher in me).
We'll be sure to send you some snow this weekend when we get hit again...P.S. I HATE snow and I hate winter - but I was born and raised here in Eastern PA.
I wish we could see your pup playing in the snow. Even cats get all excited about it. I remember Jungle and Nermal darting around batting a clump of snow.
Having lived in Fairfax 27 years and I know they have very mild winters. Lake Braddock didn't freeze hard enough to more than 3 times.
I hope your electricity isnt out. I think I just heard something about that.
Here's a pic I took five minutes ago outside my apt. window. North-central West Virginia.
In which part of VA are you, katiesbeach? My mother's family is from outside of Richmond, between there and Charlottesville. I had one aunt who lived in Lynchburg and another in Alexandria.
I never went there in wintertime, so I wouldn't know about the snow. I bet it's pretty.
You know, I was thinking the other day, I seem to remember Spanish moss hanging from the trees in summer. In Virgingia. Is that possible or am I imagining it?
