Can anyone recommend a good anti virus program for my laptop and desktop computers? I have Vista on both. I currently have the free AVG 7.5 but updates will no longer be available after May 31st. I went into the AVG forum and people are having problems with the new AVG 8.0 so I am thinking about purchasing one from the office supply store. So can anyone tell me what is good and easy to install? Thanks to all who answer.

I really like Webroot Spysweeper. My computer has been virus free ever since I downloaded it about 4 years ago.

Message: After years of going with Norton/McAfee, last year I bought a less expensive one called Defender Pro... and I have been MORE than satisfied with it! I love it more than I ever did the other two programs!!

Message: What kind of problems are you having with 8.0? I downloaded it and it seems to be working fine. 8.0 scans new websites I go to and tells me if it's free of problems. So far so good. I've always had good luck with AVG, hope you can find something that works for you.

Message: I have the new free edition of AVG 8. It took me awhile to get it downloaded and a lot of other people had the same trouble. Now that I have it I have to figure it out. It did catch things that 7.5 didn't so I think I will stay with it.

Message: Even though Norton is a bit of a system pig, I prefer it to all others. I don't like McAfee at all. I used AVG but am p!ssed that it's not going to be free anymore.
I do use Zone Alarm Pro as a firewall and spyware remover. It's great for that.

Message: I just use Norton. It seems to do the trick. I'm not much into the best available software (unlike my father, who's obsessed with getting the best and most expensive of anything). Whatever works is good enough for me. Heck - I'm still using Windows XP, with no plans/interest in switching to Vista or anything else anytime soon (much to my father's dismay).
