Topic: ''ACORN'' (What A Bunch of Nuts!)

Additional Comments:

The FBI has raided ACORN offices all over the country, after rampant voter fraud was revealed.

The Obama camp pays them to "register" low income voters. Some of the offenses? They showed 12 ballots that had the same name (identical signatures), but the only thing that was different? Dates of birth and social security numbers!

ACORN also hired 59 convicted felons to register voters (some of which were convicted of Identity Theft!).

Also registered, were all of the Dallas Cowboys, in NEVADA! (Shows quite a lack of imagination, doesn't it)?

When the Obama camp was asked about it, they replied "clerical errors".  GMAB!!  Thank goodness those headquarters are being raided, as we speak, so, hopefully, it will lessen the chances of an Obama win by fraud and deception.

To those who are scoffing and being dismissive, the ACORN raids are a very legitimate news story and serious investigation of voter fraud. It's nothing to dismiss out of hand. It's a serious case and a serious situation. It sounds like there is a plausible case of fraud, at least enough to warrant further investigation and reporting.

And to the rest who believed it with such gleeful, partisan fervor,  I wouldn't put in such overarching, wide-reaching, conspiratorial terms.

Sometimes, you just need to take a breath and look at things with a little balance, a discerning eye and little less hysteria.

  • I agree, Farmer. I'm still doing some reading on this subject which is why I haven't responded til now. Some of the allegations are definitely disturbing. ~i&b
  • Just to be clear, I was not dismissing the story about the raid on the ACORN office (I heard it was one raid, in Nevada). Only Diane's assertion that the Obama campaign is committing voter fraud. (And, no, I'm not accusing the McCain campaign of voter fraud. But I live in Florida and voted here during the last two presidential elections. At least, I think I did. Maybe you have to have been here in 2000 to get what I mean.) It is my understanding that what's being investigated is not wide-spread fraud by the organization, but a few individual instances. No, that's not acceptable, but that's a long way from wide-spread fraud initiated by the Obama campaign, which is what Diane has implied here and stated more baldly in other topics. Maybe I shouldn't have been so glib, but I do always try to give an informed opinion. - dbrv
  • While it's true that they've only raided one office, ACORN is under investigation in 15 (may be 16 now) states, the two most recent being Missouri and Indiana. There is no solid proof yet that Obama initiated it, but he did give them $800,000 for 'voter services' so it stands to reason that people would be suspicious.
  • I heard a report last night that the donation was made in the primary season and that the Obama campaign dropped it's association with ACORN for the general election. ~i&b
  • Obama's campaign told CNN that it *is committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process,* and said it has not worked with ACORN during the general election. Brian Mellor, an ACORN attorney in Boston, said the group has its own quality-control process and has fired workers in the past -- including workers in Gary. But he said allegations that his organization committed fraud is a government attempt to keep people disenfranchised. *We believe their purpose is to attack ACORN and suppress votes,* Mellor said. *We believe that by attacking ACORN, they are going to discourage people that have registered to vote with ACORN from voting.* Elections officials in Milwaukee credited ACORN with alerting them to suspicious voter registration, resulting in 26 ACORN workers facing criminal investigations. *We have thousands and thousands of employees all over the country doing this,* Mr. Mellor said. *Do you really expect every one of our employees to be perfect? Probably not. Sorry.* MarieH

I know I already posted, but it's easier to do a link this way.

    ACORN website

ACORN/Project Vote - You can do your own research and see that Project Vote is part of ACORN, but this is the link to ACORN's website.

And susienews, with all due respect, I wasn't talking about "truth as you make it". I'm talking about FACTS that can be PROVEN.

    Fact check! http://fightthesmears.com/articles/20/acornrumor

For further checking - it's called Fight the Smears.  http://www.fightthesmears.com/

**''Discredited Republican voter-suppression expert Ken Blackwell has gone on TV lately with some wild accusations against Barack about a non-existent connection with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also known as ACORN.

The accusations have no basis in fact.

The truth is that Barack was never a community organizer or trainer for ACORN, and he was never employed by ACORN in any other capacity.  ACORN was not part of the historic voter registration drive that Barack led.

Get more information and help spread the truth about Barack Obama:

Together we can make sure these deceitful and false attacks don't affect this election.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Fightthesmears was created by Obama. It's not a legitimate website for the facts. But I will take your other website and direct you to the part of the site where OBAMA HIMSELF discusses his ties to ACORN. I guess he forgot about that speech. It's evident through the whole page, but especially in the next to last paragraph. Project Vote was part of ACORN. Click inside...
  • *note: I don't click in when the post is not signed. .... Kate
  • I'm sorry I didn't play by your rules.
  • IA with Kate in that I don't click in either when the post is not signed, because I don't know who is doing the posting, and I might not even care. eom VeeJay
  • So basically, you're saying you don't care what it says, just who posted it? I posted proof from Obama's own website that he has ties to ACORN.
  • What I said is 'I don't click in unless the post is signed''. It's just the way it's done. A courteous act. I wonder why you don't sign your name. (I don't spend a lot of time wondering so don't go there) LOL..................Kate
  • I always post using my name... in the part where it says 'your name'. :)

Add Missouri to that list. But I guarantee you, it won't matter at all to anyone except those who seek the truth. They'll claim that Obama has never had anything to do with ACORN, even though there is indisputable proof saying otherwise. Even though he worked for Project Vote and gave over $800,000 to ACORN. Obama's past. Off-limits. College records. Off-limits. Medical records. Off-limits. His cousin Odinga detained American journalist Jerome Corsi in Kenya earlier in the week, 15 minutes before he was about to hold a press conference about his book and with incriminating evidence against Obama. Do you think it'll matter at all to anyone except those who seek the truth? Not at all. But the truth is coming out... and there's about to be a bomb dropped on Obama to the American people.

  • Paige, sadly, I do not think that even a ''bomb'' literally or figuratively, will make a bit of a difference to his ''followers''. They just do not care, and it's scary.
