Subject: Dems take things VERY seriously. I've noticed that most of them can't laugh at themselves at all.

Subject: Last time I checked, it was the Democrats that were saying ''no'' to the Republicans! NO, to scrapping that 2000+ page monstrosity and starting over, NO to just about everything the Repubs wanted to incorporated into the bill. I think it is now the Dems that are the party of NO!

Subject: Saying *no* or Hell NO is like listening to 71% of the country. I've never been of the mentality that I shouldn't pay my own way...I've never wanted someone else to do it for me ! BB**

Subject: Obama is trying to help people get on their feet. why do Rs 'always' imply that people who are up against it are 'lazy?' would you believe some of the people who need and are asking for help are actually republicans? --insert 'gasp' here. and the reason some people are saying no is because they're buying into the lies beck and limbaugh are passing off as truth. the Rs have already managed to water down the H.R. bill to the point we have to wonder what's left.

Subject: Maybe Obama should actually be telling people to get off their lazy a&&es!! No one helped us get back on our feet when we hit hard times, and I don't expect any taxpayer to ever help us. Did you ever hear of the words ''personal responsibility?''. Try it sometimes.

Subject: what an asinine remark. people are losing their jobs and it's not because they're lazy. and now the Rs are interfering with the length of time to collect unemployment benefits while these people search high and low for new employment. You know what? it should happen to each and every R. maybe that's the only way they'll learn that you 'can't pull yourself up by your boot straps when you don't have any boots!'

Subject: It has happened to us. Many times. But with the deficit ballooning to record heights, it has to stop somewhere. I would decline unemployment if I knew it would help lower our tax rate. You have to think about that. The only way we are going to pay it off is if the govt taxes us up the wazoo - not only us, but our children and grandchildren. THAT is what is tragic.

Subject: it has to stop somewhere? why didn't you tell that to the former president? you guys really clam up when one of your own is gambling with your tax dollars. it was those tax dollars of yours that were stolen by cheney's halliburton. why didn't you scream and holler when you found out the outrages amounts they were charging for things - as well as charging the gov. for things they never even did. had you started screaming when you 'should' have you'd probably still be hoarse.

Subject: If the Energy bill is enacted? Guess who stands to make millions, if not billions! Al Bore and Nanci Pelosi, are just two that have a personal stake in this. They have energy company's that will profit from this. And, don't even get me started on alot of those other Dems that stand to make a fortune if the energy bill goes through. There are crooks on both sides of the aisle. It is not only the Repubs. Don't throw stones unless your own house is in order!

Subject: you shouldn't have said 'don't throw stones unless your own house is in order.' The R house wasn't in order yet you threw stones at Clinton. you should have learned something just now from both SM and me. Ds as a rule do not defend someone just because they happen to belong to the same party. neither of us like pelosi and we said so. that's something I rarely hear a repub do. your post about bush being an embarrassment surprised me. I've been waiting for a repub to finally stop defending him and admit he was an embarrassment. for that I thank you. eom Backup

Subject: I have said in my many, many posts, that I did not like Bush. Now, was he the Satan that the Dems portrayed him to be? I don't think so, but just the same, I did NOT vote for him, and in fact, voted Democratic for that election. I never bashed Clinton, either. I think Bill Clinton did a fairly decent job and was one of the best presidents we have ever had, and thought the Repubs were too hard on him. But, when I found out during the last election that he was the one that tried to make it easier for the underprivledged to buy their own homes and get easy mortgages, even though they had no job, no income, etc. etc., they still got loans and it contributed greatly to the housing/banking meltdown. I didn't agree with him on THAT. But, that is about the only thing I disagreed with him, on. I even supported Hillary when she ran against O in the primaries. So, you need to get your facts straight!.............................DianeR
