Subject: I guess you are referring to me about ApolloOhno. It was his own words that,in my opinion, made him look bad. He said he was disqualifed because it was a Canadian ref and it was on Canadian soil. I felt bad for him to have been disqualified until I heard his comments. Diane

Subject: I am not sure Apolo should have been brought into this either. However, I hoep he apologises for his cheating accusation last night. We like him in Canada and respect how good he is at his sport, but to cry foul like he did was so not like him. This judge has disqualified numerous Canadians and has an impeccable reputation...that's why he was in the Olympics. I am sure it was in the heat of the moment and I would bet he'll apologise. That said....that judge/ref wasn't even supposed to be working last night. It was supposed to be an Aussie but he received numerous death threats from Korean fans for his DQ of the women's relay team the other night. That's awful and more of a story than the whole Apolo thing IMO./Betty

Subject: I'm still trying to figure out the original poster's 'unladylike' criticism. They had just won a HOCKEY GAME, for crying out loud. Ladylike? So they should perhaps be drinking tea with their pinkies up or something? Gimme a break! I heard that Ohno was disqualified but hadn't heard his comment, which I think sounds quite unfortunate and like sour grapes ... shades of the Russian criticizing the American skater who took the gold in men's figure skating - it's not fair because I didn't win. GMAB! .............. Ashley

Subject: I think it would be nice to declare a moratorium on GMAB and GMAFB. The use of those two seems like a failure of vocabulary.

Subject: Why just those two? Why not all of them? What makes them any worse than LOL or TBTB?? I notice you didn't even sign your name. There's no need to hide when giving your opinion./Betty

Subject: These two sound particularly juvenile is the reason I singled them out. There is nothing wrong with the abbreviation, it is the silliness of the expression. ''Give me a break''? What does that mean in terms of what the person was trying to say?

Subject: It's an old expression and if you don't like it that's fine but don't tell others how to talk. Especially since you can't even bother to sign your name. You can't feel strong enough about it if you are scared to sign your name. I make is a point to not address anyone scared enough to sign their name (unless of course it is a personal issue) and perhaps I should have not bothered this time and won't anymore. /Betty

Subject: I did not ''tell anyone how to talk''. I said it would be nice to have a moratorium on that expression. Maybe you should read a little more carefully before starting to accuse and call names.

Subject: I didn't call you a name...you're too chicken to give one so you don't deserve a response. I did read your moratorium high an mighty post. I will say what I want and use what expressions I want....just like everyone else here. And there's nothing wrong with that. Personally I do prefer to type everything out but these anacronyms are just faster to use in these days of texting. This for sure is my last post to someone who is so sure of him/herself that they can't post a name. I am off to watch the closing ceremonies./Betty
