Subject: Yes we do pay for them Just Saying. However, it is kind of like life insurance. The benefits are there when you need them. I don't have to worry about the bills after a hospital trip. It's done with. Have a baby, come home. No bills. Put your mother in intensive care for 9 weeks, and after her funeral, dad isn't bothered with bills. Done with. Peace of mind.

Subject: We don't pay directly for them so we don't lose our houses. It's not like the US where some can't get insured. I know...I have lived in both countires. My rommmate in the US needed surgery but since she was born with the condition she can't get insurance and therefore no surgery....she dies young. If she was in Canada she would have had the surgery as soon as her condition was discovered, not forced to live with it and die young because she couldn't afford the surgery./Betty
